Just to put this trade in perspective as to why some of us don't like it, here's some examples of trades where it makes it seem like the Wings got fleeced: Moulson and McCormick for Torrey Mitchell and 2 2nd round picks. Vanek and a 5th for Colberg and a 2nd Meszaros for a 3rd Gaborik for Frattin a 2nd and a 3rd Hemsky for a 3rd and 5th Rundblad and Brisebois for a 2nd Luongo and Anthony for Markstrom and Matthias Robidas for a 4th Penner for a 4th So to be fair, I'd say Legwand (contract expires this summer = currently a rental) for Eaves a 3rd and instead of Jarnkrok a 5th sounds like a deal ANY OTHER TEAM GOT TODAY! Am I happy we got Legwand? Yes. Am I ok with what we gave up? No cause of Jarnkrok. Only saving grace apparently after venting to my dad, apparently Jarnkrok was threatening to go to Sweden to play again per Malik, and getting fleeced in a trade by the Preds, we may have a future trade partner in them and he seems to think something big may be coming in the near future, possibly draft and that we're getting some centre from Russia.

That was more me hoping to get him for our 2nd pairing.

Offer the Oilers a 3rd and 5th for Sam Gagner and throw in a 2nd for Ference and call it a day. 2 players that actually would be great fits in Detroit.

Hemsky to Ottawa for picks per TSN. I actually would have liked him or Sam Gagner on the Wings. Gagner would fill a C need and can also play wing.

I like to think we have a Legendary top 3 in Yzerman, Howe and Lidstrom. All 3 different players, I don't give 2 s***s who's the best, I'm just glad they were all long time Red Wings that enrich the organization with a beautiful history. When you look at the rafters at the Joe, it's got some pretty amazing names up there.

Mule's channeling the spirit of Z!

Mule's been hustling like a madman this year. Lately when he looks like he's floating, he's getting in position to get that rocket off. Not like when he's off and it doesn't ever seem like he's skating hard.

That's why he and Lashoff make a nice pair.

And yes, beauty pass from my boy Abs! Good hustle to get it deep.

I also really like the Hampus Melon Arena. Other ideas: Hockeytown House, Howe Pavillion, The Grind Factory (in honour of the grind line of course), Tinky Winky's Playhouse, and of course my favourite, plain old "Arena" where the sign looks like it was written on cardboard with a really big sharpie marker. I still like Joe Louis. Something historic to the city. I hate the names of arenas these days. I get advertisement, but keep it to the boards. Make the name of the arena mean something or it's no better than the cardboard arena sign.
