11/17 - Andrew Copp Breakout Coming GDT - Wings at Sharks - 730 PM PST

There really is nowhere in the lineup for Zadina when this roster is healthy -
Yeah, I'd either want a first or a high second. Outside of that, I think he has more value in being re-signed.

Yeah, the lack of even a half-assed apology is pretty telling of his character. Though I bet he won't be long doing it now that his contract was canceled. -
I'd rather extend Ned tbh. Unless someone overpays

From everything I've read this kid continues to be a pos and has done nothing to atone for what he has done. Like, he didn't even apologize. Step zero to redemption should be at least to make an effort. -

Lack of due diligence. -
Serviceable 3rd pairing dmen tend to be capable in their own zone.
-
Edvinsson is currently a disaster in his own zone, and that s*** has to be worked on. It's possible to think he is a great prospect while also thinking he needs a little refinement in the AHL. It shouldn't be that difficult to comprehend.
-
When I say something would pop up in its place once it dies, all I really mean is some sort of committee that makes decisions for IIHF tournaments and whatnot. At some level, someone has to appoint somebody who chooses coaching staff, rosters, etc. We certainly do not need some shady governing body like Hockey Canada, however. To be fair, the Mathews thing is more of a Toronto thing than a Canada thing. Toronto is a whole different beast in relation to the rest of Canada as far as hockey sponsorships and what not go.
-
Fans don't want his development botched by putting him in the NHL too quickly. Yzerman is gonna look out for what's in the best interest of the team in the long term. Johansson doesn't have the level of skill Edvinsson has. But he plays a much more well-rounded game at this stage and should be the one to win the roster spot for opening night.
-
No. This whole thing will prove that Hockey Canada is not needed. It'll die, and something new run by less rapey people will emerge.
-
Russians make his groin not feel good
-
So did Crosby in their first meeting with Detroit.
-
That Lids-Weber pairing at that all-star game back in the day is the closest we'll ever see to that. Pretty sure they didn't allow a single goal while on the ice.
-
He's nearly a ppg player and a significant playoff contributor. He's been around for a while. He's really good at this whole hockey thing. Stop getting caught up in the preseason.
-
Because it's preseason.... he isn't playing for a roster spot. Do you think the Wings beat the Pens a few nights back because the Pens suck? Nah man, no motivation. Why risk injury during the preseason when the games don't matter?

8x$9.15M per for Barzal. Probably a good indication of Larkin's contract -
Imagine judging a proven veteran player based on preseason effort
-
This. Too many dum dums want Edvinsson paired with Seider. In reality, you want one of those two guys on the ice for 50 mins a game. You let them lead their own pair. You only put them together in a pinch when the game is on the line and you need a tying goal or some s***.
-
But his issues stem from the difference in ice size and having less time to make decisions
-
It's been said 4 players will get an A as they plan to rotate away and home games. My guess is Chiarot, Perron, Seider, Bert.
-
Johansson will also win the third pairing roster spot instead
-
This. It looks like the smaller ice has led to him needing to be quicker with his decision-making. Best he figures that out in GR. I do feel Soderblom makes the roster. He's just too good. Also would not be surprised to see Johansson crack the third pair with all the injuries on the blue line.
-
Based on preseason action thus far, I stand by my assessment that Eddog needs a bit of time in GR. Soderblom is making the opening night roster.
