News From Around the NHL *Mod warning page 75*
marcaractac replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Just in time for my trip to Vegas -
Well, his mistakes in the tournament were pretty noticeable. He'll be fine though. He has the right work ethic and will learn from his mistakes. He makes a lot less now than he did one year ago.
-
Also, give Moritz an A
-
Cossa looked much better than he did this time around as well
-
I said the same thing in a convo yesterday and was called crazy haha. That kid is just all-around solid, and I can definitely see him being the first to crack the lineup.
-
Loads of potential for Edvonsson, but I do feel a little time with the Griffs would do him well. I love seeing dmen jump up into offense, but he sometimes does it for VERY low percentage plays. He also gets a little too casual out there from time to time. A little more seasoning for him. Even then he won't come in and make the immediate impact Seider did.

It's not meant to be a flex. It's meant to point out that while consistency is great, having a goalie who can elevate to another level when it matters is more important, in my opinion.
-
Was it being shook when he let in 3 in one game in the finals, then told his teammates that was all they were gonna get on him, and then shut the oposition out in dominant fashion from the 2nd period on? Because that tells me he can battle through adversity and shake off mistakes. A quality you cannot teach. Wallstedt is gonna be another Tukka Rask. A really good goalie who can never elevate his game when everything is on the line. He'll be really good, but what you see is always what you will get, and nothing more.

Height, athleticism, confidence, work ethic, attitude, elite puck tracking, good puck handler, does not linger on mistakes. Positioning, rebound control? Very coachable issues.
-
You know, it's okay to think Cossa was the wrong pick but still root for him to succeed. The kid clearly doesn't suck. There are zero issues with his game that cannot be coached. The stuff you cannot teach? He has in spades.
-
DeKeyser to Nucks on a PTO.
-
He has delusions that Cossa will be NHL-ready by then Bert, I'm less concerned with, as he can be traded with minimal impact on the overall rebuild. If anything, for the right return trading Bert can help the rebuild.
-
And Larkin if there is no progress on an extension by then. Highly unlikely, of course. I assume he'll be locked up before the opener.
-
Because nobody cares about the rumors you create
-
Rumors have sources. It isn't hard.
-
Yes, I will get used to regular healthy scratch, Filip Zadina.
-
It's highly entertaining that the same person who says Cossa sucks is such a shill for Zadina.
-
Edvinsson played with food poisoning vs USA and sat out against Germany because of it. He'll be good to go next game.
-
Yeah, Stevie only spoke up when he absolutely had to. He was very much lead by example. The 2002 run was the personification of this.
-
He was taken out of an exhibition game as well for precautionary reasons. I'm guessing where it was "just Germany" they are resting him while they can as he is not 100%. Hope it doesn't f*** s*** up for training camp.
-
The only thing they'll have in common is the fact that they'll take over as captain once their current captain retires/leaves.
-
Cossa also entered the game last night when Canada was up 3-0 and started falling asleep at the wheel. Two of Sweden's goals they had all the time and space in the world to pick their spot. The third goal was a Wallinder point shot where Cossa was screened by his own guys. Cossa is definitely a project and always has been. But there are no flaws in his game that are not coachable. His size, athleticism, work ethic, confidence, and mentality are huge assets that cannot be taught. I feel like when he is off, his positioning is off. Working with pro-level coaching will go a long way for this kid. His struggles this past season were good for him. It was adversity and he hit the reset button and then battled through it. I won't have any concerns unless he goes 1+ years in pro hockey without showing any sign of improving.
-
I'll always root for Sebrango based on his upbringing and work ethic alone. It's a feel-good story and hopefully, he can keep it up.

Nobody is saying he is on the level of guys like Johansson. He is simply one of the D prospects that are closest to NHL-ready.
