WCF : (3) Chicago Blackhawks vs. (1) Anaheim Ducks
marcaractac replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
They straight up need to make it no foot movement to make the rule black and white. Too many rules in this league have grey areas. If the foot is moved in any way for the purpose of putting the puck in the net, it should be no goal. The goal last should absolutely should not have counted. But because of how the rule is worded, it is a call they get wrong a lot. Does really make one wonder if the league saw a chance to avoid finals ratings disaster and allowed the goal based on that -

Bolts got this. They will eat Crawford alive -
Jim Devellano on Mantha's play: "Very disappointing"
marcaractac replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
He has started playing more physical the last couple games. He also got rewarded for driving the net when he scored. Will be great if he continues to build off of that. -
signed Dylan Larkin turning pro... will play for GR immediately

What separates Larkin from others is his excellent 2 way play. If he struggles to score, he will still contribute in other ways. Guys like Goose and Tatar turn completely invisible when they are in a drought. -

To be fair, people using cap issues to say the Blackhawks are doomed is basically the same as when people have been calling the Wings too old for years and years and years. It just isn't gonna happen, no matter how much many folks here want it to. They will continue to be good for a long time. -
And the Babcock haters will twist Buffalo's imminent success into him being a mediocre coach.

ECF : Tampa Bay Former Rangers vs. New York New Rangers

Never said he was. But he is the best in the game, and has been for years. Nobody has been more consistently good then the King. It is a crime he does not have a cup. But it does not take away from how good he really is. -

Exactly. The kid hasn't stopped playing. He will adjust to the long grind fairly quickly because of it. -

Neither did Hasek until he had a great team in front of him. And believe me, Hasek's legacy was created when he won 6 Vezinas. The Cup in 2002 was the icing on the cake. -

It really sucks for him. Especially considering you got those who think he is basically a nobody because he hasn't won a cup, as if the Stanley Cup is some individual award. The one time he did have a team in front of him, he won gold with half the Wings roster in the 2006 olympics lol -

Bolts would not have too much trouble with the Hawks. Crawford is terrible. Bolts would eat him alive. -

Feel so awful for Henrik. The team in front of him can never get it done. Ever. -
Not even sure the refs seen it with what was going on with Tommy at the other end lol

Gotta score first against this team. It becomes painful to watch when tied or Utica has a lead. Not gonna beat them playing from behind. Come out firing on all cylinders. Get the first one, force them to open things open.

I'm so damn conflicted. On one hand, Chicaco vs NYC would be amazing. But on the flip side, Anaheim vs Tampa would be hilarious and ratings death. With the direction the league has been going, I think it needs a ratings death wake up call. They probably won't so quick to resort to expansion if current teams bleed money and can't draw any ratings in the finals. So basically whoever wins tonight dictates who I root for tomorrow night, is what I am saying lol. -
Buffalo will absolutely see success sooner. Not because of who is behind the bench, but they have been stock piling good prospects for a few years now. Toronto's cupboards are basically empty.

That line was basically a joke but okay?

All hail Backhand Jesus -
Boucher was a 1-3-1 one trick pony. Once other teams figured it out, he had zero answers.

Dats also missed some of that series. That combined with Rafalski's body falling apart was the difference, sadly. The east was also super weak back then, so there was no stop an experienced Pens team coming out of it. Right place right time for Bylsma. They could have disguised a coat rack and made a good run that year. The key was getting rid of Therrien and his whining/throwing players under the bus shenanigans. In the long term, it was proven Bylsma was not the guy to win with. Obviously he didn't have a whole lot of help at times *cough*Fleury*cough* Great fit for Bylsma though. Just don't see him as a long term option. He'll teach them how to play the right way, he'll teach them to be competitive. But when the time is right, I strongly believe it will be another coach to teach them how to win. Not a knock on the guy at all. I just see him as a great young team coach.

Because the teams sure had no part in it, amirite?!

Because I DID want to discuss the coaching change. Which I have. But a discussion becomes pointless once it just turns into having to repeat the same thing over and over. Hence why I brought a different question into the mix: If the Wings do worse this season, who is to blame? Assume injuries are a non factor and we go into the season with the EXACT same team. -

This was just my less boring way of bowing out of a debate that has devolved into repeating the same things over... and over... and over. I do have a question though. If the Wings do worse this season, whose fault is it? -
