There is always somebody. Look at the last 10 years and all those "unmovable" contracts. Every single one that a GM tried to move, always moved. Contracts far worst than that of Weiss.

It would be very easy to move Weiss if they had to. There would definitely be suitors for him.

Not to mention the type of minutes he was playing. Pk, etc. Coach had a lot of trust in the kid.

We don't rush kids we need to develop, but this is a young, high end talent who already has shown he can compete with the best. Might be nice to finally have a kid that starts dominating at the NHL level by 21 instead of just trying to break into the NHL at 21.

Basically he will at least be in the AHL come fall. Hoping he makes the Wings roster though. He showed he can play important minutes against high end talent already. Would love to see him get a shot centering the third line.

I'm so excited for this. I have a feeling he will play his way onto the Wings roster before the season is over. Kid is the real deal.

Exactly. Also, despite the score, there was never any doubt Canada was losing that game while watching it. 100% different feel from the game in 2010. Canada dominated, just couldn't bury their chances. Bylsma had no answer for Canada's play what so ever. He is a good coach, but he is not one of the best. Not even close. Blash gives the organization the chance to groom the next great NHL coach. Going after a guy like Bylsma would be a huge downgrade. Bylsma would much better serve a team like Buffalo.

I want an Anaheim/Tampa finals specifically for a ratings disaster. When a league is wanting to expand when it has teams that many already don't care for, they need a ratings nightmare for the finals to open their eyes. Cali does not need 3 teams. Florida does not need 2 teams. New York does not need 183 teams.

Just goes to show how impressive detroit was at shutting Tampa down with how much Tampa has been scoring since. Hope that trend continues with Blash!

Isn't that basically up to Blash?

Hitchcock to me comes off as a coach who has the same systems and style as Babs, but is a s***ty people person. Babs is more intelligent in terms of getting the best out of his players. Players have a history of tuning Hitch out. Bylsma is madly overrated. Players like him, but a good coach will coach circles around the guy. In other words, Blash is the guy. If Blash turns out to not be the guy, go after Tippet.
