Howard's playoff #'s are good, but they don't tell the whole story. Some of the goals he would allow were absolute back breakers when the team needed a timely save.

Mrazek needs to be given the chance to play, even if it is just to light a fire under Jimmys ass. Worst case scenario our goaltending stays how it has been (unlikely).

The key there is a 3 game stretch, where outside of those 3 games, in the 10+ he has played, he was stellar. Just look at the numbers he has been putting up since going back down. Couldn't hurt to give him a chance next game what so ever. He is on a roll right now. Regardless, can't be any worse than the goaltending this team has gotten in the past 2 games.

Regardless of goals scored by the wings, outside of 2-3 straight games where Mrazek didn't play well, he was fantastic. The difference between Mrazek and Howard/Gus has been timely saves. Even when Mrazek was having an off game, he was able to get it together late and keep the Wings in it. Howard vs the Rangers was pretty well the only time we have gotten that kind of goaltending since.

Because Howard was so damn good last game, right? Also, it's a back to back. The backup goalie pretty well always gets a start in those situations. Glendening was put on the top line because he is the closest thing to a Helm the team has with Helm on the shelf, and Helm on that line has been great. Giving that a try by no means is setting the team up to fail. And please tell me what Jurco has done lately?

He had 2 or 3 not so great games, but he also had games where he was stellar. And look how great he has been since being sent back down. Time to give him another look, because Gus is awful, and Howard has been mad inconsistent since coming back from injury.
