I cvould see where you're coming from. im also one of the most difficult people on earth to offend lol. i just spoke up cause im not sure they intended that, and i did see their point. im just the guy who thinks everyone should get drunk and get along! there will be highs and lows. the 3 games in 4 nights is just unfortunate. det vs bos will be a great rivalry this season no matter what

Considering the 2nd line is 3 guys who before this season have never played with each other (besides team sweden for franzen and afie), im not gonna be too concerned if it takes a few games for the chemistry to get going. they have already shown flashes. this team is gonna be fun to watch this year. especially once we get helm back and tatar and gus get into the lineup.

Great to hear. Hopefully those who jumped down my throat for me laughing at the idea that Tatar could be traded have read this as well. They won't eat crow. They told me to "chill my attitude" because I thought it was hilarious that people thought there was a chance he'd be moved.

But nobody has been making moves over the summer. Once free agency settled down that was it. Everyone is waiting for camp and preseason to see where they are. That is when you will see moves get made.

They need to shed salary more than clear roster spots. Waivers can cover roster spots. Trading Tatar does not help in terms of shedding salary. It is not going to happen. No chance.

Well it can be a case of accept a trade or don't play.

It makes me laugh that some people actually think we are gonna lose Tatar because of signing Cleary for 1 year, when we have the likes of Tootoo, Emmerton, Eaves, and Samuelsson on the roster. Get real people.

With training camp and preseason pretty well here, there will be players hurt by the time the season begins. There will be someone needing to fill a roster spot and be willing to give up pretty well nothing for him

This signing doesn't concern me. I like it. My only concern is being stuck with Sammy. He gots to go. Now that we have a legit top 6, Cleary will be back to being a role player in the bottom 6. We need guys like that in the bottom 6 to get it done in the playoffs. Come playoff time the best possible roster will be iced. That best possible roster is better with Cleary.

waiving him and burying him in the ahl would still count against the cap. pretty sure that's a part of the new CBA.

I'd actually have to BE a newfie for that to happen. The reality is, is that a team with a bunch of small, skilled players isn't gonna get you far. Do you need skill guys? Yes! But you need guys like Cleary to. Certainly glad Holland doesn't live in your reality or we would be icing a smurf roster like the Habs each and every year. With Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Alfie, Franzen, Weiss, and Abby (you can't not play him with Dats at this point. His suspension proved his value) why is everyone so sure Cleary would be in the top 6? He is a role player. With the forwards the Wings have now, his role is grind, PK, and give the bottom 6 some secondary scoring. Sure he may get some 2nd unit PP time to get in the goalies face. It isn't gys like Tatar or Nyquist who will lose roster spots with a Cleary signing. It is guys like Sammy, Tootoo and Eaves. Guys like Bert will have to fight for a spot. There will be injuries all season. Everyone will get their chance to play. Dunno if everyone has forgotten, but that is the exact reason why the Wings have made the run they did this year! Maybe people should see how the roster actually shapes up by the end of the summer before getting all bent out of shape now. Ever think that just MAYBE a trade or two will still happen?

You don't win in the playoffs without guys like cleary. Cleary staying is good. There is no room for him in the top six, so he could play in the bottom six and be an effective player.

Tatar, IMO is an upgrade. There really isn't room for Tatar AND Brunner. Not without losing size.
