I can't make a prediction for this one at all. I'm obviously gonna root for Canada, and they definitely CAN win, but in a one game elimination anything can happen. All I know I just wanna see Canada get a second shot at the USA in the gold medal game. That'd be one for the ages.

But this doesn't seem to mention the fact that he pulled Hasek in favor of Ozzie when the Wings won the cup in 2008...

Franzen playing in the olympics could be the best thing for the Wings at this point in time. He'd come back after the break already in game shape. With only 20-something games left, there isn't really much time to let our returning players take a few games to get back into the groove.

I'd say he will, but it isn't gonna happen over night. I say we will start seeing the real Red Wings after the Olympics.

If everyone is expecting everything to turn around pretty well over night they are gonna be disappointed. I say there will be a game or two where the time is on a high with everyone pretty well back, but then there will be the period of getting back in game shape and getting the chemistry back that will follow.

The team will be fine. When they get everyone back, and they all get their games legs going again, they'll look more like the Wings we've come to expect over the years. I'd be scared to face this team in the post season this year. They may not have the fire power they've had last year, but they've improved so much on their defensive play last year. The Wings will be fine. I'd imagine the Sharks and Hawks are just hoping the Wings move up to 4th or 5th in the standings, to avoid them in the first round.

I'd have more respect for him if he said " I don't want to play for the Wings, I wanna be a Hab (The Habs are my most hated team, just to put that out there)". When it comes to a player giving up because he is having a tough time in the AHL, then pardon my french, f*** him. I'd rather see the kid say screw the Wings, and gun for another team. If you don't want to put in the required effort to play in the best league in the world, especially the Detroit Red Wings, then I hope the door knocks you flat on your ass on the way out. And that's all I have to say about that.
