Indeed. This game has been great thus far. Ending will be epic. A shoot out would ruin my nerves. But hey, maybe if i lose all my nerves today the game tomorrow will be more easy to watch

A couple days of light exercises with no returning headaches, and he will be allowed to practice again. After a couple of those, he will be back. I'd say definitely for game 1 of the finals, and possible for game 7 of this round if it comes to that. God i hope it doesnt come to that.... lol

True that. They want him back asap, they just aren't gonna risk anything with a player who is gonna be a big part of our team for years to come. We are more than capable of finishing off this series with the W without him.... he'll be back for the finals. Heck, I wouldn't be shocked to see him in a game 7 if it got to that (heaven forbid!! :S)

What is this dirty play you speak of? I agree the refs have been s*** this game. They are the same way in every league these days. But I have yet to see any dirty hockey in this game. The closest thing was high sticks to the face, which both teams have been guilty of.

I'd say let Helm and Abdelkader fight for the 12th spot. Hell, maybe eventually they can both oust Sammy. Nothing wrong with having a younger, hungrier team. We can always trade for a couple depth guys at the trade deadline, perhaps another Drake-type.

Abdelkader in for Dmac would be a great lift for the team. Thats a line that can be a game breaker for us. Also, I'd like to see Lilja in for Chelios tomorrow night. Chelios has been bad this series, especially in game 5. Perhaps sitting him for a game or two would smarten him up.

I really do think Franzen will be back for the finals. They say his headaches have stopped, he just needs to be cleared to play and get a couple practices in. Cleary is so close to breaking out. He has played great the last few games, coming so close so often to scoring. Once he gets that ice breaker, look out for him. Also, Hank and Dats need to be broken up for game 6. With Franzen out we need to get more of a balanced attack. With Dallas having last change, we need to make it harder for them to get the matchups they want.

Hope the series gets wrapped up this afternoon!! And I sure hope Franzenstein can resume his ownage for game 1 of the finals!!!!

Yeah to bad the miscall in game 1 never had much of an effect in the final score. We were already winning win that goal was scored anyway. In the last game, the no goal screwed us out of an early lead. Not to mention the Stars got away with everything but murder when it came to penalties in the 1st. The Stars are done this afternoon. Just face the reality already.... Not to mention we still won games 2 and 3 without our leading scorer at the time. What would your team do without either one of your "3 headed monster"? Oh yeah, probably look like Colorado did in game 4 against us.

Heh yeah. At least when Anaheim gooned against us it was to try and take us out to win the series, and not hurt us when we already had it won But in all seriousness, Stars are done.

As much as love team Canada, They'd have been in troulbe tonight if the Wings Swedes were involved. I'd say the Swedes have the best shot at the gold in 2010, home ice for Canada or not. They have great goatending, and with Kronner and Lids, their D will be unstoppable once again! So if Canada doesn't make it to the gold medal game, I'll be cheering "Go Wings!!! and Lundqvist!!!" just like I did in '06

The way I see it, if it is a clear cut play, call it. If the nref has doubt or is unsire, don't call it. Like Babs said, there is no need for the refs to make s*** up, which is what they did in game 5. There was absolutely no interference. For Bettman to say the right call was made tells me he should NOT be involved with this game at all. No rules need to be changed to fix this at all. Everyone is all like the rules need changing!! Or, they say you have to draw the line somewhere, you can review everything it slows down the game. First thing I must say, review all you want, it can't get any slower than baseball haha. But anyway, the best course of action for the league I think is to give each team one challenge per game. If that was the case, in game 1 the penalty that would put Detroit up 5 on 3 in the first period would have probably be challenged, and in game 4 that no goal call would have been challenged, and we all now it would have been a goal. The challenge thing works for the NFL, why wouldn't it work for hockey? The Wings could have also challenged that goal San Jose scored when the puck was in the netting in the reg. season. I personally think it is the only way to solve the problem. That way, the ref still gets control (unless the play is challenged) and it gives the coach that extra thing to have contro, over in a game. It would work.
