I don't disagree with this at all. Perhaps have the new cops coming out of college do the patrol s*** and earn their way up after a few short years? Like, you'll get there, you just have to pay your dues type of deal. Much like everyone SHOULD have to do time working in customer service when young to curb the Karen epidemic. Hell, despite getting my Engineering degree in 2019, I still have to put in 4 years before I can take the test to become a professional engineer. So there is precedence for such a thing.

While I have no doubt racism is an issue in law enforcement, I also have no doubt that there are white folks who get raw deals as well. In the end, it's too ******* easy to become a cop. That low bar leads to many people in the force that should not be there. Period. Whether it's racists or people on a power Trip who will hurt anyone. The current system is broken. I just feel bad for the genuine good cops. There are many of them out there.

I'm not for cancelling law enforcement. But I am all for holding them accountable and ensuring proper, in-depth training. A psych evaluation probably wouldn't be the worst idea either. But the whole one glove fits all training they all receive clearly does not work. More specializations maybe? Obviously, I do not know the answer, but the current solution is broken af. I also think they are forced to deal with a lot of issues they aren't equipped to handle when it comes to domestic disputes and whatnot. But yeah, people on the receiving end of a simple wellness check probably shouldn't end up shot and killed.

There is nothing you've said that isn't an "if" or "maybe" itself. There are no "guarantees" like you seem to believe. We think it's likely the team builds upon last season. You think they'll be the same, if not worst. Earlier in this thread I gave examples of about 10 teams that can very well have a lot go wrong. Not including the three train wrecks that will finish below us regardless. I like the odds of a better finish.

You did not say it was possible, you implied it was VERY likely. That's why we disagree with you. You think Yzerman is gionna trade Bert and Vrana for futures, despite him stressing that trading these types of players, he wants a younger, NHL player as part of the deal. Hence how he got Vrana to begin with. Teams pay Yzerman for a player entering their prime years for a younger comparable plus futures. He wants a competitive team that can win games. Because that's how you DEVELOP these young players.

Remeber how much Yzerman stressed we need to hit on some of those 2nd, 3rd round picks? He ain't counting on no top 5 picks for this. He'd make the playoffs this season if there was a way to do it without mortgaging the future.
