He will LTI-Retire. No need to give up that money if he has legit injuries to keep him from playing.
-
Who does he beat out for a job in the middle 6? Bert, Vrana, Zadina, Fabbri, Namestnikov, Erne. All better than Svech. Assuming Yzerman brings in center depth, you'll have Ras join that list. We'll have Raymond and Berg knocking on the door from GR. And this assumes he doesn't even sign another winger!
-
Dekeyser provides use for his last year. Svech wouldn't even make the roster.
-
Would not mind that experiment at all. Such a pairing would allow either guy to pinch from time to time, as they are both capable of covering for each other.
-
Don;t get me wrong, down the road having a high offensive dman with Seider would rule. I see Johansson filling that role some day. And when I say responsible, I do not mean guys like Dekeyser or Stuart. I just mean guys who aren't completely inept in their own end. Like, it would be perfect if Hronek was a lefty.

I don't disagree. Though I do think his offensive capabilities probably fall somewhere between what you say and most other say. I think he will show a little more offensive flair over the years. He may not have a booming shot, but he has a hell of a wrister from the point. He has also been impressive during his PP time in Sweden. I can easily see him being a 50 point dmen in his prime. Having said that, I simply do not see it being the right move to saddle the kid with a defensive liability right off the bat. Let him have the chance to jump up into the offense every now and again. Not have to hang back because of Yandle. Basically I hope to see SHL Seider instead Mannheim Seider. Obviously I wouldn;t expect him to match those numbers right away in the NHL, but I;d like to see him with a partner that allows him to play that way.
-
I think Seider would be best suited to play with someone who is also responsible in his own end. Don't wanna neuter Seider's offense completey.
-
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have his offense. But he is a disaster defensively. It would be nice if we could protect a guy like him on the third pair and use him on the PP. But we're looking to have a pretty young crop of dmen this season compared to recent years. It could get ugly with a liability like Yandle.
-
I just don't see it in him. He'll have his little streaky moments, but he is mostly invisible. I said before if that kid wants a long NHL career, he has to change things up and make himself a valuable bottom 6 winger. Learn how to be effective without the puck, hit, etc. The kid just offers nothing when he isn't scoring. Sadly he does not score enough to offset that. I hope you're right though. I hope he gets to go elsewhere and put up 40 points a year. It'll never happen here with the depth on wing we have in the pipeline.

Yandle being bought out. Please no.
-
I'd be pumped if we only lost Svech. He's the most expendable as far as I'm concerned.
-
To this day I am mad at Holland for not making that trade happen instead.
-
That long post sure explains why the Wild were so useless in the playoffs all these years. Yikes. No wonder he didn't come here. There would be expectations.
-
Vancouver nor Toronto would EVER pay that much for Bert. You wouldn't get Marner alone, let alone Liljegren and a first along with it. Same with Boeser and Vancouver. You might get that Russian kid and a first from the Canucks if you take Eriksson back with them.
-
But he is not afraid to trade for them either, thankfully. Maybe he'll turn Zadina into another Sergachev at some point.
-
Pun intended.
-
I'f I am a GM in this situation, I simply trade down with pick #22 to try and add an additional second from someone who may really want the other goalie. If the BPA at 22 is a goalie, and I'm happy with the guy I got at #6, I straight up just try to increase my odds at hitting a gem a little later.

I am really hoping Johnson survives the Seattle draft. I think he'd be a great stop-gap fit in Detroit. Never any harm in having capable cup winning vets come in to help out with a young roster. That's how one avoids becoming the Sabres. He would help the pp a lot.
-
They literally just have to wait for Seattle to take Johnson or Killorn and then trade the other. They'll be fine. Core untouched. No chance they move Point. Oh, and they can't re-sign Savard. That's literally it. They can likely even keep Coleman if they can agree on a small raise to stay with a contender. Next year they'll have to dump enough cap for Point's raise. The year after they have to dump enough for Sergachev's raise. Yzerman did a masterful job locking that core in. No Chicago-style blowup to be seen here. Having said that, if I'm Yzerman, I'm still on the phone with them, but I'm after Johnson to fill in as our 2C until someone takes the job. Also, Habs are a Tier 3 team.

If you post in a public forum, you'll be responded to. Deal with it. Hoping Yzerman one day gives up a first round pick and a prospect just to get rid of Larkin is the type of stupidity you should expect to be called out for. If you can't take the heat...

When have I ever messaged you? When did I mention your name? If you can't handle discussions on a forum, don't post on a forum. And don't blame me because you can't help yourself from breaking forum rules unprovoked.

Preplanning poor asset management are we? Genius!

They'll get two cups out of Johnson before he goes

How dare you insult the backhand of disney.com

Same though. Oh but wait, that makes us goalie haters.
