Eichel would deplete our farm. Reinhart is like the only other one that fits our timeline that is any good.
-
We are gonna will that Cossa pick into happening
-
Looks like it yeah. Not that he is terrible or anything, just streaky as far as scoring goes. Wouldn't say he is taking games off or anything. Sure he has his moments. At least when Franzen was cold, he was still useful in other aspects of the game.

Two good moves
-
The standings were deceiving with the games in hand teams behind us had. Vancouver did look like they might choke it there for a little bit, however.
-
It means the prophecy has been fulfilled, and that those who were complaining thinking the Wings would pick outside the top 10 can finally relax.
-
Remember when Jurco said the same s*** when he went to Chicago? That sure was the problem with his play in hindsight, wasn't it?
-
So we'd move on from one coach just to hire another who'd coach the exact same defense-first system?
-
Hell yeah. A Caps loss to Boston makes that pick in the 18-23 range. So let's hope for plenty of lower seed first round series wins!
-
Power if we happen to win the lottery. Seider-Johansson Hronek-Power Suck it, NHL.
-
Even better: Nucks have 5 games left! They simply need 3 points out of that (with 2 points coming from a regulation win), as they have us beat in ROW. As for Blash, agreed. If he was gonna get canned, he'd be canned by now.
-
Oh I do. You just don't start off with your best offer off the bat haha. I bet if you take on Okposo you might get away with the Caps pick though
-
And maybe that is the right move to make. I;d certainly start with the Caps pick and a prospect first, then try adding our second, etc. Our first would be my last resort, but I'd part with it if lottery protected, as I'm not sure I;d give up a shot at Owen Power for Reinhart. Better yet: Caps first, B prospect, take on Okposo.

Like I said. Conversation starter, not final cost. Also, if he wants out, Sabres negotiate from a position of weakness. He's also not under contract next season as an RFA.
-
No idea. I'd avoid giving up roster players. Would top 5 protect any potential 1st rounder. Start with maybe the Caps pick and a prospect to start a conversation.
-
Reinhart + Seider + a little health luck and this is a pretty fun team next season. Enough to get out of the bottom 10 even. Then add Raymond and Berggren a year later. Would give us a good 2C, which would also help Larkin a lot.

Sam Reinhart. Get er done, Stevie.
-
Yeah 2 years makes sense. Long enough to see what he can do with more talent joining the roster over the next two seasons. Yet short enough to move on if need be.

5/8 - Season Finale GDT - Wings @ Jackets, Musk @ SNL - 7PM EDT

3 points out of 12 seems doable, as long as they also get the tie breaker -
Larkin literally plays the toughest minutes in the entire league. His scoring climbs back to his 70 points per season when he has help down the middle (Not from Ras). Ras in his place would be lucky to score 20 points per season. #notmycenter Ras would be a 1C if he had the offensive gifts. He does not. His idea spot as a center is 3C and a pp net front specialist. I like the guy, but a 1C he is not nor ever will be.
-
Filth and lies. 3C or winger
-
Very true. Not to mention, if we don't have a crazy high end offensive center who demands 10+ million per year down the road, we have the cap flexibility to focus on depth rather than giving up too much cap on too few guys. I'd rather have a bunch of 6-8 mil players than a few 10-11 mil players.
-
Not the worst idea at all. I guess I just like Ras' size on the forecheck, and less responsibility by not being center he can create more havoc in front of the net. My biggest concern with Ras at center is his puck skills only. Even in his draft year he only had 3 assists 5v5 the entire season. But he was a pp machine. In the end, Ras and Veleno def have their pros and cons list when it comes to being that third line center. Good problem to have when injuries strike.
