At least if Veleno had a prime scoring opportunity like Flip had last night he'd have actually shot the damn puck haha. I was happy with his decision making. Look forward to seeing him develop at the NHL level. I will say that if he keeps playing like he did last night, he won't see the AHL anymore. Unless he gets sent down when the Wings' season ends. I will also say Veleno > Svech. -

Being a center def had a lot to do with it, when considering Larkin is out. I like how he made the right play every time he had the puck. There was no panic in his game, and he was responsible in his own end. -

Pretty happy with how Veleno played. He did not look like a guy playing his first ever game. Dude made plays at both ends of the ice. -

Pretty decent. Had a take away in the offensive zone in his second shift which he threw in net and Gagner almost burried the rebound. Very little ice time, but I don't recall him losing a faceoff. -

Yes, so there is hope that we can get Cossa 17-20 or so, if they are knocked out early enough. Fingers crossed the meet NYI in round one. They'd be ripe for the upset. -

Yeah I'm all for trading up if that is what it takes as well. I was high on Cossa for a while, especially when he was ranked in the 30s. It'll now likely take the caps pick plus our own second to get him, but I'm still all for that. His ability and size combination doesn't come around often. -

It's tough because this year is defense-heavy, but next year is center-heavy. Imagine having Owen Power to pair with Seider. That would excite me more than a lady of the night. Gonna be a wild one. Lots of talent will drop due to lack of scouting. Best year for Kucherov/Point type of luck. Especially with five picks in the first two rounds. -

Wallstedt has played a whole 23 games in the SHL. Hardly an advantage over Cossa at all. He also has garbage playoff numbers, including in the under 20 league. -

Cossa jumped form 30-something to 14th in the rankings. Absolutely dominant. 6'6" of glorious puck stoppage. My guess is he'll be Team Canada's guy in the next WJC. -

I'd imagine this offseason will be a lot like the last one, which hopefully includes keeping Bernie and Glenny around. While they won't be the guys to bring us to contention, they can be around to see us get back to the playoffs. Then Glenny can continue to teach the kids how to take face offs.

Yes, LHD is what I meant haha. Of course, if there is a winger that is clearly better than any remaining center or dman, do it. The hope is that a quality dman or center is still on the board when the time comes. If I'm Yzerman I'm trying to trade up that Washington pick for Cossa on draft day. -

I'm hoping Sebastian Cossa is around for the Washington pick. I also think he has been far more impressive than Wallstedt. Our own first needs to be used on a LHD for sure. Or a center if the best dmen are taken. -

That sounds absolutely lovely. Zadina has been setting dudes up all season. Glad Blash finally paired him with someone who can burry the chances. Now for him to get confidence back in his shot. Ras has been fantastic. Very excited to see what he does after another summer of working out.
