Ehn is the ideal extra forward. Good enough to fill in during injuries and not be useless and prevent the youth we want to build around from being bench warmers. Not to mention he could still turn out to become a very good fourth line center at some point. I see nothing that shows Turgeon would be any better offensively than Ehn. No chance Turgeon scores 15 points playing with Abby. Ehn put up 9 points in 60 last season when the team was all around far less terrible. Ehn is younger and proved he can play at the NHL level. I'd take Ehn over Turgeon 100% of the time. Do not understand the Ehn hate what so ever.

All this arguing about captains. It's gonna be Lafreniere, fools. After winning rookie of the year in another season without a C, he will be named captain (of the Red Wings, smart ass who wants to reply with "of the Ottawa Senators) heading into the 21/22 season. -

Glenny would be a find captain, but he'd have to commit to the team during the summer first. He won't be named a captain heading to UFA the following summer. He'd be trade deadline bait. -
Dahlin was absolutely praised as a generational dman. Despite what some may think, I have no doubt he still absolutely will be. He is literally still only 19 years old. Kid will be the best dman in the league for many years. Shame he ended up in Buffalo.

Can confirm 100% that Kakko and Hughes will never win a single Norris trophy, let alone multiple. Jerks.

Y'all ever see a take so bad that you just have to go to sleep?

Gagner has been a nice addition. Hoping he sticks around for a couple years to help mentor the youth. -

The important thing is that AA already found himself on the third line in Edmonton. Whose fault is it now that Blash isn't his coach? -
Fake news. Zamboni drivers are undefeated.
-
Howard played. It's always a blowout when Howard plays.

I get that about Kronwall alone, but I was more alluding to between he retiring PLUS Dekeyser being out all year and Hronek having to do it all on his own. 3 competent dmen last year (not great, but competent), to just one this year. Hurts man. Next year? Hronek, Seider, and healthy Dekeyser. I feel at worst we'll be back to 2019/2020 levels of bad next season.
-
We'll find that out in 5 years or so. Until then, queue the crybabies
-
Bummer for AA, as he also got injured last night. Green hurt as well!
-
It's almost as if trying to win 6-5 every game doesn't work
-
Folks just salty about AA. But hey, they are quiet today after his 0 points and -1 last night. I avoided mentioning Melnyk and Dorion because that is a path of rage I do not want to go down
-
That's sirdrake as f***
-
Their fans don't deserve it. They didn't even sell out when they made the Conference finals a little while back ffs.

A lot of s*** went wrong. There is no one person that the blame for it all falls on either. We lost Kronwall, which hurt the team more than most realize. He was excellent last season. Having Kronwall, Hronek, Dekeyser and a less terrible Green in the lineup, and our d was infinitely better last season. This year it's been Hronek all on his own, and even he is hurt right now. Nemeth and Flip are stop gaps. They were never gonna move the needle. Howard has also been otherworldly bad this year. A team lacking depth like this squad needs a lot of things to go right to find success. This year about everything went wrong. The old players regressed hard, Howard s*** the bed, and opponents know to zero in on the one good line we have to shut s*** down. Guys like Mantha missed more games than were played. Just a comedy of misfortune. Blaming it on Blash as if he saw the writing on the wall is silly. Even if he feels he has no future here, the man still gotta coach for future work. Let's get to the good news. No more Green, Daley, Ericsson or Howard. Addition by subtraction. We're gonna get an impact player with a top 4 pick. Guys like Seider will make the team. Guys like Zadina should improve. Guys like Larkin should bounce back, as he has done before. Will we suck? Absolutely. But it'll be less painful to watch next time.

If the league does any sort of meddling in these lotteries, you got to think they'll make sure a soon to be league star will steer clear of Ottawa I love how you whine about LGW always needing a whipping boy, yet it is you so desperately trying to turn Larkin into one.
-
As for Drysdale, he is also very young like Byfield.
-
For sure. Getting Seider in the lineup next season will help, as he'll wreck dudes. Lafreniere will be exciting too
-
Yes, several years from now at the earliest.

Ask Ovechkin if it's okay to look the other way on defensive duties. Years of disappointment. Then when he finally buys in to defensive duties under Trotz, cup. Likewise with Yzerman and Bowman. If your best players aren't playing a 200 foot game, you're not winning. Look at every cup winner and you'll see this to be true. In the end, AA wouldn't buy in. That's why he was the odd man out. The team may suck, but the game still has to be played the right way. Seider def gets the C when Larkin eventually moves on.
