  1. Watch this be the game they finally win.
  2. Yeah me either at this point tbh. Sure got a lot of people worked up for no reason though
  3. Neither were in the lineup for the Griffs last night, so very likely they remained with the Wings.

His agent is the problem. He was a headache to sign once. With his agent, he likely will again.
  5. I'd feel like we're five years from anything if our prospect pool was shallow, but luckily that isn't the case. Toronto and Colorado are two teams that turned it around extremely fast, and despite how grim it is now, I feel like our rebuilds are more in line with those than say Edmonton. or Buffalo. To be guaranteed a top 4 instead of say, a top 10. To have the best odds at a lottery pick in a year with a generational talent on the line.
  6. It's confidence. It's shot. They came out of the gate flying. They got scored on. Deflated. That happens when losing 12 in a row. I think it's safe to say it's still a skill problem. A win is gonna do wonders for this group. The weight of the world will be off their shoulders.

He won't be moved for the sake of getting rid of him. He will be moved because he likely doesn't fit into the team going forward, and can help obtain assets. Regardless of his season totals, all he has to do is finish strong. Either way, he'll be scouted. Teams will know what he is. We can't hide that.
  8. We can flirt with a playoff spot in two years if we get some draft lottery luck this summer. Lots of talented players in the system, it's not a stretch for the turnaround to be quick with a little luck. Agreed that this season's suckage seems to be very much by design, however. Larkin, Bert, Mantha, Hronek, Fabbri are guys who will stick around. Sign a decent goalie and dman, luck our way into Lafreniere, call up Seider. Next year alone can be a hell of a lot better.

Yeah, it sure was easy last time

I feel like the return would be better for guys like AA during summer anyway. There will be more opportunity to go around once a few players are shed at the deadline. Finish the season strong like last year. At least this time they'll be too far behind in the standings to work their way up.

Time to bump Helm up to the second line. Perhaps Perlini will get his third line role now.

So basically it's Ehn that should get a look on the top line

    Answer: More than Perlini

Maybe, maybe not. Either way, he has 50 games left to figure it out. I just don't buy placement in the lineup as an excuse to accomplish literally nothing. Sure you have s***tier linemates. But you also face the opposing team's s***tier players. Make something happen. The current top 6 have been our 6 best forwards. It's just the way it goes man. Best performing players get the ice time. Nobody is saying what you're suggesting is outlandish. I'm just saying if he wants to move up, earn it. Bert did it. Mantha did it. Time for Perlini to put up or shut up.

...and the third line is where he started here. Guess what? He didn't do s***. There are 50 games left. At some point the onus is on him to earn ice time. The only thing I'm arguing is coddling players because of where they *should* be. Hell, in Chicago he couldn't crack the roster. Did Arizona and Chicago misuse him too? Perhaps he just isn't as good as you think he is. We need players that makes this team better. Not players who depend on others to do the work for them. This season is about developing the players with a future here. Not cutting their ice time to try and increase someone's trade value.

Fabbri was scoring as a top 6 forward before getting hurt, and was starting to get back into that groove just before the trade. Perlini hasn't scored above a third line level in his career at this point. Perlini topped out in his sophomore season. He doesn't have major knee injuries to blame. Fabbri couldn't work his way up the lineup in St. Louis because they have a cup winning roster. He still showed more on their fourth line than Perlini has shown on ours. Just like demoting players who DID earn their ice time wouldn't do them any favours.

In the end, I just feel like if Perlini put the work in, he could find himself moving up the lineup. I just haven't seen that drive from him. And f*** giving it away if they don't work for it.

Zadina played with Nielsen, and he still showed drive. He forechecked well. He played well without the puck. He put up a couple points. He generated scoring chances and earned a promotion to the second line. Perlini playing with the same players didn't do much of anything. Whether you agree with it or not, this team is doing all it can to retain a culture of hard work plus results equals more ice time. Obviously that is not gonna work out for every single player, but that's the way she goes. All he has to do for the time being is beat out Adam ******* Erne for a third line spot and go from there. As for Fabbri with the Blues, he was coming off of major injuries. No doubt that also contributed to his slow start with them. I've read plenty from Blues fans at the time of the trade that he was starting to get his legs back and show flashes of his former self again. More evidence that you can show something, even on the fourth line. Problem in St. Louis was their depth. Even if he played well, he had a mountain to climb in terms of beating out other guys for ice time.
  20. Perlini can learn a thing or two from Zadina about forechecking. It's the type of s*** he has to do if he wants to move up.

This. If you want to move up in the lineup? Outplay guys. If he can't beat out a guy like Helm now, he'll likely get his chance at the deadline when Helm is no longer around. In the end, our bottom 6 is basically and offensive wasteland, and there is nobody in the top 6 who deserves to lose their spot to Perlini.

It's not like Perlini was put on the fourth line the moment he came to Detroit. He did start in the middle six, and accomplished nothing. The team has only one legit top 6 center. Not many wingers on this roster get to play with him. So if a winger is only good playing with skilled players, Perlini is currently s*** out of luck on this roster. Especially once Mantha returns. In the end, it's the NHL. If you want ice time, you have to make s*** happen and earn it. That's what separates NHLers from AHLers.

I dunno man, if a player can't manage anything in sheltered fourth line minutes, I'm not convinced they deserve to take someone else's spot. Sure it would be great for disney.com to be in the bottom 6 where he belongs. But he will get those minutes until someone takes them. I bet Mantha or Bert would chip in on the fourth line.

My ideal lineup going into next season (because there is literally no point for this season): Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha Fabbri - Filppula - Lafreniere Hirose - Ras - Zadina Perlini - Glendening - Abdelkader Erne Hronek - Dekeyser Krug - Seider Cholowski - Nemeth Biega, McIlrath Markstrom Bernier Departing: Helm will be a deadline trade, Nielsen will be bought out, AA will be moved during summer. Daley will be shown the door, Green moved at deadline for peanuts, lol @ Ericsson It's been okay, Howard. disney.com has always managed to put up a few points, no matter where he is in the lineup. Dude earns it. When Perlini earns it, he'll get his chance too. Look at the change we've seen in Mantha because he learned that he has to earn it.

He has literally been our fifith best forward this season. While not a top 6 type of player, I get why he's been getting top 6 minutes at points during these last few seasons.
