    his scoring definitely came down, and he has seemingly lost his ability to take over games. The guy dragged the Sens to the final 4 a few years ago. He was a beast.

    Karlsson was damaged goods going into that free agency period to be fair. He was never the same player since his surgery a few years back.

    I can understand the apprehension on wanting Krug if one thinks he will soon regress. I get it. I just think he's one of those guys who will still be putting up 40-45 points at 35 years of age.

    A diminutive defenseman who has consistently put up 40+ points per season his entire NHL career, including being a playoff beast.

    Also doesn't hurt to have a known playoff producer for the kids to learn from when that time comes. In the end, wanting Krug comes down to whether or not you think he'll be effective in his mid 30's. I think he will be. He has been extremely consistent his entire career.

    I feel next season will be a lot more like last season. Competitive, but bottom of the standings. Many of these tweaks we need we will see in summer, I feel. Yzerman is clearly trying to minimize the damage now, but that is quite the task.
