I say don't skip steps with him. Let him transition and learn how to carry the mail and be The Guy at the next level, the ah, like he's been doing in the Q. Confidence is a strange thing, often times when it's lost it's never regained, that's why sports psychology is such a huge industry now.

But the fans don't.

What's up with the late start?

Nhl.com say Alfie has unspecified injury. He's looked like he's been laboring lately, like he's playing because he is "less" injured than the other vets.
-
Are you guts thinking the Glendenning line will go against the Krejic line? I'm thinking it's our best chance for victory.

27 goals puts him into top 30 goal snorers, tied with Hossa, one behind Toews and Parise, two behind Kane, etc.of course he's got ten and twenty fewer games than the others mentioned.

I know I'm spending way too much time on the internet when I actually start to care that people are posting playoff race questions (that turn into a full page off topic) in the injury update thread instead of the playoff race threads...so I'm not going to say anything about it. Carry on.

We are in control of our own destiny. Let's take care of business, boys.

Brunner is 3 pts away from tying his lockout shortened Red Wings totals.

And the penalty he drew, the cross check he took to the head didn't slow him at all. No "omg, I got hit in the side of the head, ouch, look everybody, ouch, someone hit me with their stick! "

Did you guys hear Ken Daniels quoting Babcock on Glenny: "Other than Nick Lidstrom, Steve Yzerman, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Crosby, Toews, and Bergeron, Luke Gendening is the most competitive player I've ever coached."

I like Jarnkrok too, but he's certainly not going to draw the same assignments Glenny has been handling. -

The Leggy pass on the Nyquist Tampa goal is nothing to discount: he got the puck, turned with a stride and a half and hit a speeding Nyquist exactly where he needed it, all in an instant. Exactly the kind of pass our young D often struggles with. While it may not be a difficult pass to make, it is an easy pass to screw up. -
After the Calder Cup run and last night, Gudas is already sick of Nyquist. He's thinking, "Crap, this is what I've got to look forward to for the rest of my career?" Speaking of Gudas and last night, we really do need a (younger) Bertuzzi type on his line. Guys are going to run Gus and try to make his life hell.

I thought one actually needed to be here first, before one could be back here.

I guess I was reaching with that one...yeah Avery is into fashion so maybe he can explain something about the design cut of one sweatshirt vs the bad design cut of another...otherwise, what have I got to talk about with him...yeah , stupid, I know...

When I was that age, I was doing similar things. Only I was in my own home town, in my native country. My father was still alive and very available for guidance and perspective. And I wasn't making bank. And I wasn't nearly as high strung to begin with. It's a strange period in his life, no doubt. But IMO, they're the golden years. I would recommend not growing up too fast. You can never go back.

Au contraire , mon ami: I've got Jen Murphy, known across our hockey league as The Jenerator. As a defensive pairing, our goalie once informed us that we'd gone 11 games in a row without getting scored upon. Murph is a Class IV white water kayaker. An excellent mountain biker. Restored her own 63 Volvo. Dabbles in triathlons. Is too smart to ever go out with Avery or Phanuef. And most relevantly, is a huge Red Wing fan. Cuthbert would be fun for a long weekend, but as far as a lifetime goes, I've got the trump card.

I would just like to see Marty's 1100 hp Dodge Charger, couldn't care less about the *** for tat. So many of these great athletes are just not guys I'd ever want to tip a wobbly pop with. At least I could talk cars with Marty. I've tried to find a picture of it, but apparently my Google fu is subpar. I suppose I could ask Avery why is it that I like my Michigan Hockey hoodie so much, but my Detroit hoodie is way to tight in the shoulders even though it's the same size...what's up with that, Sean?

He got blown like a 2goal Red Wing lead? Sorry...it's a family forum...

Jack Adams material right there, baby! No wonder Canada keeps calling every four years.
