I like babes as much as the next guy, if not more, but I don't lke eye candy that is there for the sole purpose of being eye candy fluff. I'd rather listen to Murph talk about the game I'm watching than listen to Eva Menendez read the script that some else wrote for her while trying to lok like she actally knows what she's talking about I like Mickey and Murph because they are a coupe of veterans talkng hockey and don't follw the same ESPN sports guy formula. The Wings experience is all about nostalgia, and he is an integral part of it. Edit: The ratings are tanking because of the product on the ice: I was dreading watching the Anaheim game all day long because I could not bear to watch them play half hearted and get destroyed by frikin Anaheim. (Luckily, I decided to have the game on while I did other things, but you get the point).

Makes you wonder what Dats could do with Bufuglien (sp? ha, ha) on his line at forward.

Rick Ball is calling the game instead of John Shorthouse. Shorty is a major homer, but I listen to Baller all the time on Vancouver's Team 1040 and he's a great all round hockey fan and very respectful of the Wngs organization in general. They did say the talked to Dats regarding Abby and he said he likes playing with him as a linemate because he goes to the dirty areas and crashes the net hard (so you can bounce pucks off his head into the net!). Who knows if Dats is being politically correct about Bab's decision to stick him with Abby, or if it's a genuine answer where Dats is really telling Babs to keep him there. We may never know, but Datsyuk is obviously making the best of it, and to his credit, Abdelkader is giving it all he's got. Ha! One of the few times I've disagreed with something you've posted. I luved those unis and thought the team looked more imposing overall in them. Maybe it's because I'm in a nostalgic part of my life right now...? Anyone know why Nyquist was scracthed? Was at the game tonite. I notice Abby out there with Brunner and Z after Dubnik had skated to the bench so I mention to my buddy that Babcock is trying to get Abby kick started with an empty netter. Then sure enough, "Timeout Detroit". Babs draws up a play for Abby to get the empty net, and it works perfectly and the Joe erupts for him. Nice. Let's hope it helps. It's been a long time since I was in town for a game. Was more exciting than I thought it was going to be. Rah.

It's actually got to get wrapped up nice and tidy in a timely fashion for television needs, that's the main thing. If the NHL wants TV revenue, they've got to supply a TV friendly product.
