  1. I really don't see this happening in November for two key reasons. First, the Winter Classic is one of the few things Bettman has done right; it is his baby and takes great pride in it. This is huge exposure AND money for the league. I'm not surprised the Red Wings are one of the teams pushing for an end to the lockout; they'll be hurt the most (financially) with no Winter Classic. November is too early to pull the plug. Second, and this is pure speculation; nothing would make Bettman tingle in all the right places more than working out a deal in early December so he is able to kick off the season with the Winter Classic. I can't be the only one who is picturing gary on the mic in front of 113,000 people saying "we wanted to bring back hockey to the world's greatest fans in one of the greatest money making hockey markets city's in the world."

  4. A couple of things to address here real quick. New podcast information... 1st -- All I can say is "really, another lockout?" - ok, now that I have that out of my system.... 2nd -- As the LGW website gets retooled, the podcast site has made some changes. In case you missed the announcement earlier in the summer, LetsGoWingsMedia.com is now gone. We've converted it over to our new (permanent) home at LetsGoWingsRadio.com Once LGW is relaunched, the LGW radio website will be linked directly on the main site. 3rd - If you were an itunes subscriber to the original podcast, click here to subscribe to the new itunes podcast feed. The old feed will no longer work. Also, if you use some other program and need the RSS feed to subscribe to the podcast, click here. Let me know if you have any questions. We can't wait to get back to podcasting about hockey (so lets hope this lockout is short lived!) -Mike- Facebook.com/LetsGoWingsRadio Twitter.com/LGW_Radio

Has the Detroit diamond lost it's shine?

0/4 - reports surfaced that the wings offered Sami Salo a 2 year deal.

Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?

What would stop hom? The wings didn't offer their number one choice that much money, why would they throw more money at their number two?
  7. Nashville can sign him then for 5 years/40 mil then. Wings have prospects and some young guys to trade. I say it's time to make some deals.
  8. only an idiot would offer Carle a 5 year/30 mil deal. I mean, if he had a couple really good seasons with the wings and improved his point totals, then he could command a 6-7 mil/year type deal. I could see Ken Holland landing him for 3 yr/15 mil

Ryan Suter agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild

Why not a 2 year deal at 10mil? Who else is better out there?
  10. That makes no sense. Why pay MORE for your number 2 choice, when you didn't even offer your number 1 choice that much money? I'd rather spend that money on short term deals on Doan, Semin, Carle, etc. Lets not jump off the cliff here...

Jiri Hudler signs with Calgary, 4 years, $4m/year

Not that Hudler has shown up in April the past few seasons anyway...

Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.

12 years/90 million; not a bad deal IMO.

#7 Washington Capitals vs. #1 New York Rangers

This should be a great game. I'm pulling for NYR. I want to see a NYR vs. LA finals. Anyone else?
  19. With the Red Wings season over, The Red Line podcast will only produce episodes as needed. Expect one during the Stanley Cup finals, another when free-agency begins, etc. Lets hope there won't be a podcast about an NHL lockout. LetsGoWings staff would like to thank everyone behind the scenes and all of the website fans for making season one of The Red Line so successful. Finally, the show is in the process of developing some partnerships which may lead to some live show broadcasts, giveaways and more. Until next time, Go Wings!

    How do we fix this?

First off, lets be realistic. Cleary is hurt and will be improved next season. The team isn't going to trade him. 2nd, Fillpula isn't going to get traded, this organization over values his talent.
  25. Wings are killing themselves in the 3rd. Horrid 2nd goal and pp.
