Coreau has horrible rebound control. And our pk had 2 chances to get the puck out and failed both times. Grr coaching.

Typical blasill start to a game. Uninspired, bad giveaways, losing every battle, no shots. If only we had a decent coach. Love how AA gets our goal... The guy blashill the idiot barely plays for no reason. He will probably be benched for that.

He always does that in OT. It takes a coach who knows what he is doing to put an end to that. That would have never flied under babs. Blashill is a horrible coach period.

Painful loss. Dekeyser sucks. He is just not good enough for the ice time he gets. He has zero offense ability. He literally has no idea what to do in the offense zone and ends up just making a stupid play. Im not sure why he always starts in OT. Im not sure why AA doesnt ever get out there. Blashill is just so stupid. If we had s decent coach we win this game. This is another example of a game we should have won and didnt. There have been at least 5 others. I hate this coaching staff for refusing to make changes on the pp and who to use in ot. The only changes they do make is goalie changes even when they play well.

Cant believe mrazek isnt starting. Shows you what an idiot blashill is. Mrazek is the only reason we got 3 of the past 4 points. Blashill even said mrazek was excellent last game so its ridiculous that he doesnt just roll with him while he keeps playing well. I wish president trump would just kick blashill out of the country since god knows kenny will never do anything.

And what has he done since then? Been horribly inconsistent, on a consistent basis. When he actually is playing well he manages to get injured. Howards days are done with the red wings. No way does the team keep howard and lose one of coreau or mrazek.

Howard played on far better teams for most of his time with the wings. Once lidstrom retired, howards play began taking a downward trend. To top that off he is 32 now. Mrazek, while he has had an off year, has far too much potential to trade away. One thing that i think happened is the new goalie coach wanted petr to not challenge as much and play with more technique, despite the fact that mrazek plays best when he is challenging and relying on his athleticism to control plays and make saves. Lately, petr looks like he is going back to that and i have seen his confidence growing. Nonetheless, the issue of the gm is he needs to decide where this team is going. I believe if we had a dman better than dekeyser then we would have a few more wins then we do. Otherwise we should just trade away some guys, get picks and draft some good players.

Once again we lose because of coaching. How many times are we going to get a pp in OT and put the same 4 guys on the ice who can never seem to get a pp goal? Why is AA not being used because of his speed and clear chemistry with vanek? Why do they put both our good right handed shooters (green and vanek) on at the same time and then all lefties on the 2nd unit? Just poor coaching again.

If the Bruins fire Claude Julian then I say we fire Blashill and hire Julian. He is far better coach than Blashill.

What an amazing comeback, led by Captain Zetty. He was working his tail off, making hits, being strong on the puck, excellent backchecking. He motivated this team to victory, just awesome to see. Ericsson NEEDS to sit as soon as Smith or Kronner is ready. Ericsson tipped another goal passed Petr tonight. I bet he has scored like 10 goals this year on our own net. Then we tie the game 5-5, blashill naturally puts ericsson and glendening onto the ice, ericsson loses an easy battle, gives the puck away and krug almost scores right away again. Ericsson is just sooooo bad. IF this incompetent coaching staff could get the defense figured out, then things could be looking better for us in the 2nd half. Our offense looks like it is working a lot better now, and Mrazek has looked very good his last few starts tracking the puck and battling to make some big saves. So if the defense can stop with the giveaways and if the team can actually come out prepared to play in the 1st 10 minutes, then things could get better. Lots of ifs.

I have never seen a team literally deflect pucks past its goalie almost every game. Maybe once every 10 games or so. But its consistent with our team which tells me there is a problem with their system. The coaches need to do a better job of getting in the shooting lane or as lunquivst has always said, get out of the way.

This is ridiculous. Every frickin game our dmen are tipping pucks past our goalies. If you arent going to block the shot then get the frick out of the way. Ericsson is garbage. Pure garbage. Petr should be pissed becasuse he is playing very well tonight. Ericsson needs to go.

The red wings are not going to get rid of mrazek. Howard has had like 3 seasons as bad if not worse than mrazek this year and kenny didnt move him then. No way do they give up on mrazek because unlike howard, when mrazek is on his game he is truly a game breaker. Kenny messed up royally with this cuz if coreau plays 2 more games he would have to clear waivers which he wouldnt. So now kenny will literally get nothing for howard.

Dont get me wrong i would jump in joy if i ever read that. He would totally instantly make our team a lot better. I have no doubt once he got playing again (after putting in some games) he would play about 20 minutes and he would totally make our pp so much better with his shot and smarts. He would be like jagr except on defense.

Nick specifically was asked if he would like to take on a managament role with the red wings (becasue of his world cup of hockey involvement) in an interview around the outdoor game and he said he really enjoyed being part of things but isnt ready to take on a role back in the nhl because he is really enjoying the time with his boys coaching them in hockey. So no nick lidstrom is totally not coming out of retirement.

Another game another reason blashill should be fired. How many times have we been scored on within the first 3-5 minutes of a game this season because our coaching staff is not prepared. Then our pp is horrible and he plays frickin dekeyser on the 2nd unit. Dekeyser clearly has zero ability to play point on the pp. Kenny just fire this tool please.

The officiating tonight was a joke. Brad watson is a clown and should be fired. We got called for everything while they got away so many hooks, 2 obvious slashes, goalie interference to name a few. The plus is is the vanek line continues to look great, hank and mantha played great and i thought nyquist had a really good game as well. Larkin has been quiet but i like him playing with tatar. They have potential to get going. Ericsson and sproul were beyond terrible tonight and were a huge factor for why we lost. Mrazek looks a lot more comfortable in net and seems to be tracking pucks a lot better. If it wasnt for him we had 0 chance of being in this game. Hopefully he gets another start and he can continue to become more confident by getting a 2 to 1 win or a shutout.

Its so obvious that this coaching staff has no clue what they are doing. Its becoming consistent- the poor coaching. In all areas of the game. Heck jeff blashill would have found a way to screw up the 2002 red wings playoffs run thats how bad of a coach he is.

These idiot defenseman need to stop deflecting pucks past our goalies. Its getting ridiculous. Just get the eff out of the way. Thats on the coaching staff again for continuing to not make adjustments. This road trip needs to end with kenny not letting blashill onto the team plane back to detroit.

Its a tough one given 2 different generstions and 2 very different kinds of players. My vote, biased as he is my favorite player of all time, goes to nick lidstrom. In my opinion there are many factors that go into this. Lidstrom won 7 norris trophies but he should have won 10. The longetivity and durability gives lidstrom another vote. We had 21 amazing years of lidstrom and each season he played nearly every game. While orr was no dount better offensively, lidstrom was the better all around dman. He consistently shut down top players, all the while helping lead the charge against them with his perfect outlet pass. In an era where it was much more difficult to score points, lidstrom still managed to get over 1000 points for a dman. Lastly, lidstrom was one of the smartest players i have ever seen. He knew plays that were developing and had an abilty to read and react to them before they even happened. Though it is close and extrememy hard to compare, nick lidstrom is in my opinion the best dman of all time.

I agree. This team consistently looks lost. They can never set up nice plays, they cant cycle the puck. There is just absolutely no chemistry. Guys dont know when to shoot. Half the time they cant even get themselves open to shoot. Thats on the coaching. I thoroughly believe that if we had a good coach our record would be better than it is. Blashill totally needs to go- its so painfully obvious.

Coreau needs to work on his glove. Blashill should have played mrazek tonight anyway. He played good his last game and should have won had the team shown up. He is the goalie the wings want to get going so when he finally does what does blashill do? Sits him for a week. Nonetheless i expect him to start the 2nd. Apart from that our team defense continues to be horrible. Hopefully blashill is fired by the end of this trip.

So you obviously know nothing about being a goalie. Mrazek made a really good save on the 1st shot and there is no way to control the rebound on a scoring chance so in close like that. Our defense turned the puck over so many times that period when there was no pressure on them it was ridiculous. Mrazek has kept us in this game so far.

Because blashill from day 1 did not treat mrazek in the proper way. As a goalie you think he would know how to handle goalies. But he doesnt. I cannot wait for blashill to go.
