Blashill again loses us a game with his stupid coaching mentality. Why was tatar on the PP in ot instead of nyquist, larkin or mantha, all of whom have been playing way better than tatar. Also why did he have green and vanek playing the point instead of a left and right handed shooter for the one timer on either side? Horrible coach. Nice to see petr have a solid solid game.

Great game offensively. We could have easily scored 7 or 8 goals tonight. But the D still clearly is extremely below average. It needs to be upgraded so badly. I didn't think this was a game Petr would do well to come in cold after not playing in a week because the Devils barely shoot, so it was hard for him to even get a feel for a puck, hopefully this win helps his confidence and he finds the A game that we know he is capable of for tomorrow against the Habs. Main points: - Mantha looks like a STUD. Not only is he scoring goals now, but he is winning every board battle possible. Just awesome. Wonder if stupid Blashill has anything negative to say about that - Neilson had his best game. Just dominated all over the ice - Nyquist continues to look really strong - Larkin had a great game, using his speed - Our coaching staff continues to be stupid. Why do they insist on Kronwall and Green not switching sides for the one timer on our PP's?!?! Makes NO SENSE! GO WINGS!

I don't get the hate on Nyquist tonight. He was on of our better players. Their whole line was good. Hes looked a lot better since he was put back on hanks line. Tatar is the one who has sucked.

Its not just my desire to have petr play. As a whole this organization needs to just go with the young guns and go with it.

Well I would say Petr better get the next start. I am tired of him being given a week off. Time for Kenny to trade Howard, get what you can for him. Start playing Mraek and all the kids and just go with it. At least you are not just keeping the same old same old, you are trying something different. But boy I think it is really showing that Blashill has absolutely no handle on this team. He needs to go.

Am i the only one noticing the lack of energy in this team since smith was cratched for no reason? He always brings energy and adds that element that is missing. Im glad marchenko is injured he should have been the one scratched anyway.

That 2nd goal happened because of howards inabilty to control an easy puck. Blashill just needs to go. He has 0 control over this team and it shows more game by game.

When Nyquist and Tatar are coming from 2 seasons of being near 30 goal scorers to their disappointing season last year and so far this year, I would say its a coaching issue. It is no coincidence that under Blashill they have not been doing good. Heck in international competition this year both have excelled. Then they come back to Blashill, and for whatever the reason, are underperforming again. I have to think it is coaching. Dekeyser is another example. He has regressed the most since Babs left. Blashill has no handle on this team.

Right. Anyone that doesnt see blashill has screwed up with the goaltending situation is blind. Its not even funny how poorly he has handled that which i am surprised about considering he was once a goalie himself.

We hate howard because he never fails to completely fall apart each season. He represents the very idea of our team being struck in the past, just trying to hold on.

Thank you! I mean the fact that Howard plays anymore games than a proper bacckup, or even the fact that he is still on this team just shows how management is just stuck in the past and are seemingly holding on, hoping to just get into the playoffs. Time to look to our future.

Do we need more proof thay blashill sucks? Mrazek has always played well against washington. Double standard. Howard got to play against the rangers because of his history but now mrazek doesnt get to play against Washington? It could have been a great opportunity for confidence. In addition he scratches smith instead of dekeyser or ericsson or marchenko...what a joke. O and glendening on the 2nd line. Fire him!!!

Halak wasn't there when it was Price originally. It was actully Huet ,so check your facts. And another thing, Halak DID outplay price that season and in the offseason, Montreal traded away Halak. So your thinking proves absolutely nothing. What is clear is that by the start of next season, Jimmy Howard will not be on this team. He will either be traded during the season (ideally) or he will be picked up by Vegas. Either way, I do not care, I will just be happy when he is gone. Look how much better Price played once Halak was gone and the net was clearly his. The same will happen with Mrazek. Blashill has totally screwed this up by not playing Petr like an number 1 at the start of the season. I am right about this.

I don't know what you watch but nyquist looks muchhhhh better than tatar. Tatar looks lost. With helm now out i see no reason to keep nyquist on that line. Give him more minutes by playing him with hank. They always play well together. Let tatar play on the 3rd line.

No it is not. Why was Jimmy getting starts he should not have got at the start of the season? He got a start in New York which was not a back to back. Petr was playing good, had just come off a win, so why did Blashill play a backup goalie in that situation? Then again in the back to back situation that I alluded to. As far as I am concerned, Blashill created this goaltending controversy. Any other team in the league plays their starter in these games, especially at the beginning of the season. I don't care what anyone says. He is a terrible coach for so many different reasons, but this one especially.

This is why Ken Holland needed to get rid of Howard this past summer. This controversy is ridiculous. Mrazek was playing fine until the game after St. Louis. He had arguably his best game, and then had to sit out the next game so Howard could play and then Petr started the 2nd half of back to back (which back ups NEVER do). Ever since then, Petr has looked off. I totally put that on Blashill for poor management. WE needed to move on from this stupid debate after every game, but by having Howard here still, we are still having this debate. And now, instead of having a designated starter, Blashill is just going to play a guy until they lose, and then play another guy, never letting Mrazek get into a routine. It is hard to continue cheering for a team whose management is stuck in the past and is too afraid to let go of pieces that will never succeed for us, like Howard. It is not just Howard mind you. Probably could have packaged up Tatar or Nyquist in a deal for a dman, but hey lets stick with having too many average players who end up losing any value that they have.

I think petr looked like he didnt play in a while. O wait, he didn't. I totally blame blashill for his poor mismanagement of the goalie situation. It started early on this season. Blashill himself said petr was the guy but then gave howard starts petr should have had and since then petr just has not looked himself. He needs to play better no doubt, but now knowing blashill petr will sit for another week or so. Speaking of blashill he needs to be fired. I believe it is 4 times so far that miller has been on the ice in the dying minute and we have been scored on.

None of the goals were really mrazeks fault. The puck took a terrible bounce on the first goal, the 2nd goal he made a great save through a screen and our dmen were just standing around, 3rd goal was a tip and a screen. One thing i have noticed so far this season is the puck seems to always be bouncing around a lot at the joe.

Blashill needs to be fired. He has no idea what to do with this team. In what world does a coach play LUKE GLENDENING on the 2nd line over Nyquist or Mantha?! Glendening is probably the worst offensive player I have ever seen. No hands, can never shoot the puck well, and has many 2 on 1s where all he does is go to the net and try some stupid backhand move that never works. If I was Kenny Holland and saw this, I would immedietely go down to the ice and fire Blashill on the spot. We have a lot of firepower on this team and have been saying it for some time, but I think Ron WIlson would be a great coach to utilize the offense of this team.

Ya right. Jimmy who always chokes in the playoffs. Hes had 1 good playoffs run. Thats it. He couldnt even get things done with nick lidstrom and rafalski on this team. You guys stuck with howard is silly because in the end he always ends up faultering. Petr is the guy and i will be smiling when we finally pull off a trade for howard soon enough.

Jimmy is not the starter of this team. Howard will be gone soon enough.

Solid win. Glendening suckssssss. He needs to go. He cant pass. Doesn't know when to shoot. Can't score on an empty net. Howard got lucky a lot tonight. His rebounds were bad and his sliding left to right was awful... He was lucky many times tonight. I want petr to start saturday.
