I have zero faith in Howard. Thank god for posts and for hank and Danny D saving a goal otherwise Howard let 5 or 6 pucks past him that period. Every time they shoot I'm scared and I'm sure the team has no confidence in him either. But man split up that awful 3rd line already!!!

If Howard loses again tonight then I expect petr to start game 3. All this talk of Howard being so much better than petr lately is ridiculous. Howard has pretty much only been able to win every other game at best since he took over a couple weeks ago and even then he generally still let's in about 3 goals per game. He didn't win either of our last 2 games to help us officially clinch and he was average in game 1. If we lose again tonight then mrazek should get the nod because he can steal us games.

And he flat out won a couple of those games. Howard doesn't steal games. If anything he gives them away.

Howard wasn't horrible but he didn't make big saves to help us win either. I'd much prefer petr playing to help our transiton game. Blashill has got to split up that freakin 3rd line... Nyquist and tatar do nothing together! AA-datsyuk-tatar Larkin-Z-abby Helm-richards-Nyquist 4th line I think AA and tatar would do a lot more with pav and their speed would also help pav. Green needs to get more minutes. He was our best dman last night. No one else can pass the puck up like him and get shots through.

Howard can't move side to side at all. He looks iffy in net. I'd like to see mrazek in net.

Ok but far better than Howard was during his 3 month stretch of not winning a single game. How has Howard easily been the best goalie the 2nd half? Howard wasn't exactly stellar in the month of March just like mrazek. Howard only looked good the last 2 games. Mrazek is better than Howard no question.

What a poor performance from blashill and the coaching staff all the way down. It is an absolute joke that smith is sitting instead of Ericsson. Ericsson is the worst player on our team consistently and was a big factor in our loss tonight. Goes to show you how stupid our coaches are. In addition why is AA remaining on the 4th line? Zetterberg has to be better. He lost several key face offs in the 3rd period which cost us our lead. He gave tons of pucks away. The whole line with larkin and abby isn't clicking maybe try different lines. Again... coaching. Our biggest problem to go along with coaching is our team defense. It is horrendous and falls apart way too easily. Ericsson standing in front of our goalie every 2 seconds, marchenko losing key battles, quincy not taking his man and so on. We better show up for both games this weekend I fully expect 4 of 4 points. The only good things about this game was the power play and pavel datsyuk looked amazing.

The decisions for this game showcase what a bad coach blashill is. Smith has been one of our best players the last few games. Yet he's scratched over Ericsson?! What a joke. I don't agree with blash not going back to mrazek but I'm kind of okay with it because I figure petr will rise to the occasion and find his form against the Bruins.

After yesterday's performance this team doesn't deserve a day off today - holiday or not. The only ones who should be given the day off are the ones with kids. Other than that the rest if the boys should be practicing. Tomorrow I'd scratch just Nyquist and Ericsson. Nyquist has done nothing and blash has let him get away with it. Time to be harder on him. Ericsson is just god awful. Bring up Tyler bertuzzi and oulette to play in their place. Z-pav-mantha (I really like mantha size with pav) Larkin-AA-bertuzzi (this line would be sick) Abby-sheahan-tatar (abby adds grit) Glendening-helm-Richards Kronner-oulette Smith-green Dekeyser - quincy Mrazek in net.

Why? It was a clean hit.

2 of those goals weren't his fault and he more than made up for it. He kept us in the 1st otherwise we would have been in a whole early. He also made some big saves to keep us ahead 4 to 3. He was clutch when he had to be. Remember another goalie like that? Osgooddddd

Great period. Everyone is competing a lot harder except for Nyquist. I think smith has been our best player lately. I love his effort and compete that he has been showing. He has been getting the team going. Along with that he's been moving the puck great and keeping plays alive. Hopefully the boys keep it up!

Blashill make some Frickin changes with your lines! Z and larkin look terrible together! Why is AA on the 4th line?! Load up pav and hank with mantha. Play larkin with AA. Do something different!

I hate our coaching staff. The pp sucks still. Why not change up some stuff? Maybe try smith on one of the units instead of Nyquist.

Good god no. Dekeyser has had a very average season and im my opinion has fell off quite a bit from his potential. No way do we pay him 6 million. That'd be a joke. He's a number 2 dman at best. His passing isn't great and he has below average offensive instinct.

I want all these coaches gone after this year. Bad lineup decisions and they are consistently unable to have this team prepared to start important games on time. We go down early to Philly which was a huge game. We went down early last game. We are down tonight in an important game. The coaching staff is just not doing a good job. On top of that blashill continues to play helm with pav. Helm should never be in the top 6. Again poor coaching. It should be tatar or AA playing with pav and mantha. Blashill starts Howard tonight instead of petr. I don't care if petr didn't have a full practice these are important games and we need our number 1 guy playing. Howard looked extremely shaky out there and we are lucky to be down only 2 to zip.

Playing with Ericsson doesn't help. And Petr should have started. Dumb coaching.

Petr didn't have a full practice today khan said. He shared his net with our 3rd goalie which tells me petr didn't feel he was 100 % ready to go. He will get another practice or 2 in and play Thursday against the Habs.

No. We need go get rid of that contract now. The guy has a poor span of about 3 months every season. He's done in Detroit. Mrazek is our guy and everyone knows it. If he wasn't so sick this past week he'd be starting tomorrow night. Petr will take over Thursday for pretty well the end of the year. We need to dumb Howard's salary to create cap room for going after stammer. It's possible to get him and the only way to even try is to have cap space.

Indeed a huge response. Now the challenge is keeping consistent. Jimmy looked like a back up goalie who got us the win, but hopefully petr is ready to go in Tampa. Pav has really stepped up his game and I love the element that mantha adds playing on that line. I feel like our top 3 lines in general have looked a lot better lately and this is the perfect time for them to get fired up. Ericsson continues to suck. He needs to be gone after this season. I know a lot of people have been hard on Kronner lately but I am willing to bet he shouldn't be back already and was brought back because we need him. Regardless I thought he was fine and got better as the game progressed. I wish we would call up oulette to play with Kronner and sit Ericsson. Lets hope the wings keep going in Tampa on Tuesday. A win there would be huge.

People questioning hank must not know much about hockey. He is still extremely effective and calling for him to retire is just a joke. I noticed some people whining about Brendan smith despite the fact that he was our best dman the past 2 games! He has been physical, played smart and most importantly he can actually PASS THE Puck up the ice! You want to know who our worst dman has been lately? Danny dekeyser. He's had an average season but lately he's been horrible. He has been turning pucks over so much and losing too many battles. Quincy can't pass the puck if his life depended on it. Ericsson is a little boy in a big man's body. Marchenko is below average. Green can move the puck fine but can lose battles. This is why our forwards can't score because they spend half their time waiting for a pass that doesn't even come to them. And for the love of god how does this pp coach still work for this team?! I've never seen such a bad power play consistently get worse. The worst part is that nothing has changed they keep trying the same thing over and over. Change it up!!! Take Nyquist and tatar off and give more time to AA and larkin. Play smith instead of no skill dekeyser. At least smith has offensive instinct and creativity that Danny just wishes he had. Fact is we lost this game because our D sucks. We lost this game because blashill and the coaching staff was once again out coached. Blame Kenny all you want but he did everything he could in the offseason to make this team better. We got green, Richards, larkin, AA and mrazek full time as our additions. That should make the team perform better than last season's team but they are somehow worse. I'd say coaching is a huge factor in that... if the blues let hitchcock go after this season I say we sign him.

I'm going to the game tonight. Hopefully blashill sticks with mrazek who looks very much back to his form. A win today would be huge because I wanted 4 of 6 points in this home stand. Bonus would be beating Philly Tuesday as well. Best chance to get these points is to keep playing the guy who wins. Go wings !

I noticed Mrazek switched back to the pads he was using before and he was obviously much better. It could have been an issue he had with the new pads that was caused him to let in weaker goals the past few games.
