I don't think there is a single thread on any hockey forums that doesn't have the words classy or classless in them, especially these forums. Seriously, find a new word to obsess about already.

Actually I have another question. Someone said that they NBC didn't give the Wings the rights to have Joe vision. Now, games 3 and 4 were aired by Versus, so why would NBC have a say? Or was the rights situation just for game 5 (screen) and 6 (joe vision)?

Did they allow it for game 1 and 2? I don't remember seeing it on TV, so I'm not sure.

Didnt NBC deny rights to setup a screen outside the Joe for us yesterday as well? That would have been free as well. I don't see how they can allow it in Pitts and not here in Detroit for us yesterday.

It's tough not to say Z... But I think we wouldn't be in the finals with anyone in net other then Ozzy, and in the finals alone, without Ozzie I don't see us winning games 1 and 2(I don't want to take anything away from Z, I know he's been stellar this series too).

I was actually looking for this topic to bump and see whats going on with game 6. Hopefully we'll know soon

I'm sure as many of you know through the news, radio, and red wings mailing lists, they are having festivities outside the Joe starting at 4pm today, with food, beer, etc.. now my question for those who may know is, yesterday the talk on 97.1 was that they may possibly have big screens set up to watch the game outside the Joe, as they think it would be kind of odd to have all that stuff and then not show the game. Does anyone know for sure if they will have screens set up? The last thing I want to do is end up going to have a good time out there, then end up stuck without being able to watch the game.

I'm not sure if you're trying to use that as an excuse for it to be okay that they let them get away with the too many men, and if you're not then my apologies, but I'm still going to say what I thought when I first read this. I've never played hockey, so I may be completely off here, but I honestly doubt that. Whether he was far wawy from the play or not, that doesn't matter in my opinion. They were all inside the blue line, which would force the wings players to position themselves differently to be able to cover the extra ice where the extra man is, and passing/shooting lanes to and from him, whether he got the puck during that 20 seconds or not. Just like they have to adjust themselves positionally during a PK. Point being, whether all 6 players touched the puck at one point or another during that ~20 seconds, it doesn't matter, the number of players did have an effect on how the wings positioned themselves to play the man with the puck and the surrounding spaces.
