In regular season games, during TV time outs, they come out and scrape the ice at the goal area. It could possibly be they take the time out for this reason in pre-season too. Just a guess.
-
I just asked a buddy of mine, who letters the actual player's jerseys. Answer: pre-season is full block font, regular season is a form of plain block just for the Red Wings. Numbers are in full block.

I was browsing the forums on the Red Wing's official web site, and I came across this link. I haven't seen anyone post this here yet, so I figured this is the thread it belongs in. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2008 Not sure how accurate those numbers are, but considering how bad our economy has been in Michigan, I don't consider being #7 bad at all. According to fans and media from any other team, they claim our arena is empty every game(I went to 5 games last year, and I never saw the amount of empty seats that everyone says), if those stats are accurate, it would prove them wrong.

You're supposed to follow in the footsteps of others and create yet another thread with your line combos.

I don't follow what other fans do or don't do. I just watch my hockey.

I was thinking that same exact thing when I read this earlier. Really couldn't figure out why he would take the time to even type that part out.

I was having a discussion similar to this with a buddy of mine the other day, and he brought up a point that I wasn't able to really say much about. Most Wings fans, including myself, have been blaming the lack of selling out due to the economy. When I mentioned this to my buddy, he started comparing ticket sales to the Pistons, to the Tigers, to the Lions. He was asking me why is it that those 3 teams don't have problems selling out, and the Red Wings do, when they are in the same place/economy. I don't know anything about those 3 teams ticket sales to be honest, so I couldn't answer his question. Just thought I'd toss this out here and see opinions of those more knowledgeable of all 4 sports ticket-sales/attendance in Michigan.

Does anyone know when regular season tickets usually go on sale? I'm looking to get tickets for the Wing's opener, and I'd like to buy them as soon as they are put up for sale, just in case it sells out.

My father and I have been considering to get a pair of season tickets. I've been looking on the Red Wings web site, and the only price information I've been able to find is the $250 deposit they ask for. Does anyone by any chance know the full cost for season tickets per seat?

I've been a big Wings fan for the better part of 15 years now, but one thing I've never really paid much attention to, was the way players get drafted/signed into the NHL. I started paying more attention to this last season, and even more this off-season. Now, my question is last season, during the playoffs there was players like Brunnstrom, Leino and such that got signed during the post-season. What makes it possible for teams to be able to sign these guys to contracts prior to the NHL entry draft in the off season, and guys like Tavares, and Hedman need to be acquired through the draft (or can they be signed earlier?)?
-
Thanks, that helps.

I missed that joke, my bad.

I could have swore we signed Marian and not Marcel.

Wonder how many more times his phone will ring before he turns it off completely.

Famous or not, people have neighbors who are friends, and normally friends are excited for accomplishments of their friends. I would consider winning another Stanley Cup one of those great accomplishments. My little sister just graduated high school a few days ago, and the same exact thing happened to our home, by OUR FRIENDS WHO LIVE AROUND US. Its something for fun, and its not meant to be disrespectful to the property. You need to lighten up, and stop assuming that just because the man is famous, he isn't friendly with his neighbors like most people are (maybe you're one of the few people who doesn't exchange a word or a wave with your own neighbors, then you couldn't possibly understand). Another thing I'd like to add... The people on this board use the words class/classless so damn much. Doesn't matter what the topic is, you guys will stick that word in anywhere. People aren't always perfect, and sure as hell, neither are you, so having to consider everything with being classy or classless every time people on this board make a post is just ridiculous.

Nope Edit: I guess I should explain my answer. The two games that we lost, were close and could have gone either way, and those were the two games where our guys didn't play a full 60 minutes. When they do play a full 60 minutes against the Pens, we've come out on top. With that said, there is not much to worry about.
-
Ah I thought he was saying it went off of Kronner's skate, my bad. Either way though, I didn't see it hit the Pens player's slate until now. Makes the situation a lot easier to swallow, thanks for pointing it out.
-
Osgood had no chance at the first two goals, and the 4th goal, and no support for the 3rd. He isn't to blame at all And sorry, but I had to point this out. It wasn't off his skate, he clearly shot it into Ozzie's high stick side.

What time would you guys recommend people to get down to hockeytown cafe. Would around 5:45-6:00 be too late?
-
The only camera crew I saw there was Channel 2, for a few minutes before the doors opened. It was really fun though, the little people that were there were louder then the regular season games I've went to this year. Probably the best $5 I've ever spent.

Pens again bemoan lack of obstruction calls

The hard impact that he makes causes both players to leave their feet, just like BowHuntingFool just said also. -

A lot of time he leaves his feet after the hit was made, and as far as I know, nothing is wrong with that. -
My mistake then, I was misinformed. I just now found this on Wiki.

That was pretty entertaining. And they probably use a replica to skate around with like the NHL does with the Stanley Cup.
