I've had this same talk with some buddies of mine last year when they were bitching for him to get traded away for nearly nothing. My argument to them was pretty much the same thing that you just said. Filp is one of those people I would be really disappointed if the Red Wings parted ways with. I'm not saying this because I'm a Filp fan, because honestly I'm not bigger fan of his then the majority of this team. I just think he's very valuable to us.

Very proud of them for making it as far as they did, given the season they had. It'll suck for about an hour or so that they are out, but it's a good thing. They'll get extra time to rest this year, heal any lingering injuries, and they'll come out firing next season. Looking forward to 2010-2011!!!!!!! :siren:

I just don't understand. Can you explain? I mean, I'll ignore the fact that I have many years of playing soccer, and it is impossible to "kick" an object with your foot moving forward and have the object hit the side of your foot, and change directions 90 degrees. That is called a re-direction of the object. Now if in fact the object hits the tip/front of the shoe/skate, then yes it's a kick in. I get that if someone has never played the sport of soccer before may be confused with this, but come on, haven't we all studied physics in highschool/college? Edit: In fact, in soccer if this exact situation happened, it would be considered as if the player fanned on kicking the ball, and it just luckily deflected in anyways. Its amazing how simple physics change from sport to sport.

I understand what you're saying here, but I'm pretty sure everyone knew deep down that the Wings wouldn't make it far this year. So what were we supposed to do, just tank and not make the playoffs because we weren't going to win the cup. Doesn't it mean anything that they tried to make it as far as they could? Or even better, Howie gets his feet wet and has a little bit more experience riding into next year's playoffs? Maybe I took what you said the wrong way, sounds like you would rather have no playoffs, then a second round exit. My apologies if that's not what you meant.

I'd love to say Wings in 7, but time to check into reality. Our guys are beat up, and gassed from all these great and long post seasons we've had. After watching this team this season, I am more then happy that they made it to the second round, I just hope that they can give us one last win here at the Joe. I'm going to do my best to try and get tickets to Thursdays game, and cheer our boys on for what they've done this season. All I can hope for is one more win, and for SJ trolls to stay away.
