Yeah the Wings need to be desperate, they play better. I gotta be honest though I'll take 2-2 best of 3. It would be nice to be up 3-1 but we are playing a good team. They are very beatable so anything can happen. At this point I really thought we would have 1 win in the series, so we are doing better than I thought. Saturday is a new day, new game so let's see what happens. If we win, then we will close it out at home.

A frustrating loss, but anything can still happen in the series. But damn I wish we could just put our foot on their throats and put them on the ropes. Oh well, hope this is a wake up call.

Yeah, He was big against the Ducks and against the Hawks, but sometimes I wish he would get that one step more, like a lot of goaltenders seem to do in the playoffs. I feel like people on here think I'm bashing Howard, I'm not, I hope he gets us a cup one day, but damn, he is just average in the playoffs most of the time. Gotta be more than average. He shouldn't have to stand on his head in the playoffs, it is a team game, but sometimes the goaltender has to carry the team and stand on his head.

I never said it was his body of work, I meant it as Roloson stood on his head against the Wings that year, something Howard has never done in a series.

I agree with you, but with that said Roloson stood on his head for the Oilers. Something Howard never seems to do in the playoffs.

Your right. I'd say its Defense and Nyquist playing bad right now to pick a few problems. Maybe March was just that type of Month, like December was (losing the six straight game slide). I still think there is something wrong with Howard though, perhaps he is still hurt who knows. I'd roll with Mrazek these next two games. Nothing against Howard, I just still feel more confident In Mrazek. Even after todays game. But I guess I'll be called a Howard hater for choosing Mrazek.

No your right, I don't come on here much. I'm not trying to be a Jimmy hater, I'm just saying if I had a gripe it would be that I feel he hasn't earned his contract. And it is a team game, but what i'm saying is that there are alot of other goaltenders on bad teams that steal games, why can't Howard. Sometimes a goaltender has to step up and carry his team. I Think the Wings are still gonna make the playoffs. But unless they get better on Defense Howard has to step up, sorry but its just how it has to be.

Yeah he shouldn't be expected to be elite, hes just not that type of goaltender. Until they put a defense in front of him people are always gonna blame Howard. Like I said I don't hate Jimmy, I like Mrazek for the future, but with Howard I just don't like they gave him that contract when he hasn't gotten us out of the second round. I know its not like a huge contract but I just don't think he's earned it yet. Sometimes your goaltender has to steal a game. Wings have played alot of games this year where the other goalie stole a game on us that was on a bad team, Niemi being the most recent.

I can agree with what your saying. I will say that I don't hate Jimmy Howard, my gripe with Howard is I don't think he's earned his contract, much like I feel with Matt Stafford of the Lions.You have to win big in sports to earn those type contracts. Gotta do something great, not necessarily win a championship, but be good consistantly. I think Howard can be a really good goalie but only if he has a defense in front of him. Same with Osgood, what if he didn't have the defenses on those cup winning teams, he would basically be what Howard is. Howard is not elite and never will be, thats not a knock on him its just the way it is. Thats why its up to the organization to put a defense around him. They just haven't been able to do that.

I don't understand why people are Howard sucks, Mrazek sucks. God they both play for the Red Wings. Something is not right with Howard and Mrazek can't seem to grab the starting job. Defense played a great Lightning team and shut them down. And yet today our special teams let us down. There is so much weirdness going on right now its crazy. Babcock is stuck in his ways, same D pairings game after game. Maybe March just has been a cursed month, who knows, only a few days left in March thank god. If Boston catches us in the standings then maybe some kind of fire will be lit under their butts. I still believe that when playoffs are close and the Wings need points they have that switch they turn on and until they miss the playoffs i'm gonna believe they make it. At this point it might be in a wild card spot, but I think they make it in the 3rd seed.

I'm not gonna jump in on whos better Howard or Mrazek. I will say this, Howard is not good right now, don't know why just is. Could it be Defense not playing good? Fair enough. But nobody can deny that defense doesn't play in shootouts either, those are on Howard. Mrazek should start for now until Howard gets his head right. There is something about Howard though, he will always be good, but not elite. Osgood was the same, good, not elite. It all comes down to defense, and Osgood had that. Wings fans are spoiled. Damn we've only had some of the greatest teams in history, not to mention more legends than any other team play for this organization. How can we not be? I say just let Mrazek have the next few games and see if we get some separation from Boston and Ottawa, by that time Howard should be fine. But if Howard continues his struggles, Mrazek deserves to start in the playoffs, for atleast the experience of playoff hockey. But hey just my opinion.

I'm not a big Maple Leafs fan by any means, but as a Lions fan, I can relate to misery. Thank god I also have the Red Wings and the Tigers.

I tried to be optimistic for this season, still think its a blessing we didn't sign any of the free agents Defensemen, mainly because none of them are worth what they got. But Quincey and Cleary as our offseason deals has me on edge. This was suppose to be the offseason we dropped the dead weight. Soon we will see Sammy re-signed. God why can't we just go guns a blazing with youth if we can't get free agents to sign. Oh wait I forgot we have to let them get over ripe. And if we give up Tats, Gus, or Mantha for Green or Myers, I'm gonna lose my mind.

I would love for him to come back to Detroit. But once your a head coach you wanna try to keep being a head coach. Not sure he would want to take a step back and be an assistant. I'll Support him wherever he lands, hes one of my favorite coaches. What he helped us do in 2008 was awesome.

Your right about that, he does have a history of head problems. Look at 2008. I just don't think the Wings should invest any more time in him. Trade him, buy him out, whatever just wash your hands of him.

Franzen. Hate him, have since day one. My buddies ragged on me in 2008 when I kept saying he wasn't that good, now they agree with me. Man I wish we signed Hossa instead. At this point I just want Franzen gone, don't care just get rid of him.

Just a bad game that's all. Wings will be fine. This series is gonna be a one game win, next game loss, one game win next game lost kinda series, till it goes seven winner take all. Does Howard need to be better? Yes. I think alot of it is holiday, wanna spend it with family kinda mentality. Boston was at home to be with family, Wings on the road without family. Boston isn't stupid, they knew they had to gain some life back and even the series. Now the Wings will take it back again. Its gonna be a long battle not a sweep. Boston isn't scary, well only when the Wings give them goals. We Will Be Fine.

I just wanna say how damn proud I am of this team and what they overcame so far this year. The sky is the limit for these guys. Keep it rolling boys. Go Wings!!!!!!!!!

Just knock his team out of the playoffs, that's revenge enough, then at the end when they shake hands, Danny can just spear him in the nuts and say have fun golfing loser. Now that's revenge.

Wings will be fine. I truly believe the Wings will win this series. Its not gonna be easy, but what has the past few seasons. Boston doesn't scare me. Everyone says they can skate, hit, shoot blah blah blah . Well they look slow and old to me so I guess I don't see what everyone else sees. Wings will win this series. Book it. We've been the president trophy winners too, we've been a number one seed that got ousted by a number 8, it can happen to the Bruins. Rask isn't that good, but can Howard stand on his head?
