That was awesome!

So I have an advertising assignment due on Monday. It's for a creative processes course I'm taking at MSU. The assignment is to create a viral marketing campaign to promote any product we want. Basically, good viral marketing is any kind of adverisement you might come across on the internet, and feel compelled to share it with people you know. Maybe by sending an email/posting in your Facebook/posting it on a forum. Essentially, you want it to spread as much as possible. Okay, so what I chose to promote is Datsyuk's RBK 9K-O stick. My idea is to take footage of his daily routine (or in this case photos, since I only need to make a storyboard)... from arriving early to the rink, to getting in his car and driving home at midnight or whatever. If you guys could provide me with "behind the scenes" photos (or footage I could take a screen shot of) of Dats that'd be amazing. The subject is Datsyuk, and everything he does to maintain his excellence, but the stick is what I'm promoting. In other words, I want the 9K-O stick to be in as many of my storyboard slides as possible. If this needs to be moved to the watercooler, I understand. I just wanted to post it here, where it will be seen a lot more, first. Thanks a lot!

I don't care if its Chicago, Nashville or St. Louis. I just want short travel for the first round. Oh, and I'm not sure what the scoreline was but I know if was low scoring and close.. no OT, though.

I had a really vivid dream about 3 weeks ago... the Wings lost game 1 of the playoffs to Nashville.

My only problem with taking Kolpy out, is that we would lose a lot of weight to throw around. I know he isn't as physical as we'd all like him to be, but I think we'll see a lot more of that come playoff time. Also, Maltby usually steps up his game in the playoffs. I'm sure he won't play every game, but if he's playing well, it wouldn't make sense to replace all that experience with no playoff experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. I know that for an NFL game to be broadcast, either all the seats have to be sold or damn near everyone. The Fords were buying up thousands of seats this year to make sure those horrible Lions games would still be telacasted. edit: clarity

I wish people would realize that being the GM of the Wings isn't the same as managing your dynasty on NHL 09. I don't mean to be rude to the topic starter, you are definetely not the first person to bring up a potential trade that to me has busted logic. Sure its a possibility, but is this really something Kenny would do...ever? No. The Wings hardly ever trade anyone. And they sure as hell aren't going to trade away multiple pieces of a Championship team. Illitch said it himself, "its all built on trust", and regardless of wheter a player has a no trade clause or not.. there is still an enormous amount of security that comes with being a Red Wing. So I guess what I'm trying to get at is this, there will be no one leaving this team.. possibly additions, but even that would seem strange to me. I just traded Kopecy, Franzen and Filppula for Kovalchuk on NHL 09. I'm going to win the Cup for sure. edit:grammer

The plan coming into this year was to give Howard one more year in GR before he was brought up next year to back up Ozzie. But with Conklin playing so well for so little, do you guys think this changes next years plans? Meaning, do you think Holland would be willing to trade away Howard after all the time they've put into developing him just so they can sign Conklin again? I don't see Howard signing a new deal if he knows he's going to be in GR for another year or two. But I also don't see Holland sending Conklin on his way if he has interest in staying. Three goalie tandem, maybe? Seems unlikely.

No, I don't think they are. But I also wouldn't attribute that to their early playing careers. Take Howard for example, the kid has been in the Wings system since 2003 and a pro since 2005 and still hasn't shown he can be a dependable goalie. On the other hand you have Corey Price who IMO is a very dependable goalie and he wasn't nurtured for years before he got his shot. Larsson has shown more ability and consistancy throughout his career in Sweden and so far he's had a seemless transition to the smaller rink.

You're right, stellar isn't the right word. But the team would play a defense first game to limit shots and scoring opportunities the way they wouldn't infront of the other two veteran goalies. And playing a couple games while the #1 goalie is out isn't being rushed into the team. If he were to go into the toilet after an unsuccessful stint in the NHL than he probably will never be a dependable NHL netminder anyway. I understand where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree.

Are you claiming that if he was to let in 5 goals on 10 shots and was pulled, his career may never be the same? I don't buy it. Furthermore, he'd play 3 games at most over the 10 game/24 day span and I can gaurantee the team D would be stellar on those occasions to protect him.
