Welcome to LGW! I have to admit, I'm not worried about playing the Pens or Flyers in the finals.. and thats with no disrepect to your team. The Pens have def. been the most impressive team in the East, but I feel you lack the depth and defensive cababilities to match up with the Wings. We have two shut down defensive pairings and two selke finalists who play the power play and penalty kill. Malkin and Crosby can't match up against Z and Dats on both sides of the puck. Sure they'll produce some goals, but I think they'll give up a lot more. Basically, I feel you guys are too reliant on a few guys. Our top two lines will get the better of your top two in the end, and our depth of productive defensmen (and solid goaltending) will be what really kills you. I'm hoping for an exciting final! And I'd much rather it be you than Philly, Cheers

I'd have to say that was probably the only time I notice any kind of bias toward Dallas. They basically said Ribs and Ozzie were both in the wrong but Ribs was the worste of the two so that seemed fair and accurate to me. On the other hand, when they were recapping Turco's actions to "defend his crease" by punching homer in the back of the head, blantantly tripping Flips and Homer, mixed in with several obvious slashes.. lets just say i found it a bit upsetting that they were praising this BS ...the sad part about it is pretty much everyone over on the dallas boards seems to think this is completely normal and "happens everygame". I mean, I fine with a goalie pushing you in the back to gain some room, but the hacking and whacking and PUNCHING to the back of the head is not within the rules of the game, and therefore shouldn't be praise as great goaltending! I'm hoping the refs will be watching for that come game 3

well if you are only including playoff games you have a point. But I've been to three regular season games this year, totalling $300 for my own tickets and I plan on attending one playoff game (game 5 of the finals). And yes, I'm telling you that Lions fans (football fans) are not all wings fan. Hockey is a niche sport even in this area.. people follow the tigers, pistons, and lions before they follow the wings. Thats not to say that they aren't intersted by our playoff runs, but they are hardly the sort to attend games.

First of all, awesome avatar! Secondly, the Lions play 8 home games a year with a MUCH larger fan base.. hardly comparable

I want to do my part, so I'm hoping you can send me some money so I can buy some tickets of my own. $300 should cover two tickets.. afterall the "cheap seats" which run about $75 per are already sold out. Maybe you should be calling out the businessmen and season ticket holders that stay home on game night because they couldn't find a client to impress with their 5th row seats. The word Bettman makes me want to yell, fight, and puke all at the same time. That being said, overall I'd have to agree with this decision. I'd love to see a third party make of this incident in t-shirt form (much like the Roy F*cked Up T-shirts we have available on LGW)

This seems to be such a reacurring topic. . and I think it all comes down to how much we loved Jiri and how much potential we all saw in him. It's a tragic thing, but I think we all need to let it go and accept that we won't be seeing him in the Winged will ever again. ...then again. If one day he happens to appear... well, what a memory it would be.
