Extremely lucky, I forgot to post a Fulton Reed pic in overtime....

Random question, but does anybody know how overtime goals affect GAA? Do you get a full goal against or do you get 5/60th of a goal against? (since you only play 5 min added onto the regular 60)

Well, we are 2-0 in overtime games when I post a pic of Fulton Reed and 0-2 in overtime games that I forget. That's our problem.

Every team plays the same amount of games in the same amount of time (give or take a day or two). The schedule has to even out eventually. PAVS!!!

Who scores first this year? Mrazek or Helm?

I've been see a lot of wings falling down with nobody around them, not really happening to the caps. This leads me to believe that there may be something wrong with the wings skate sharpening

Mrazek (Time on Ice - 549:54) : GAA - 2.18 SV% - .935 Howard (Time on Ice - 524:33) : GAA - 2.29 SV% - .918 But yes they are not the problem with this team. It's nice to have two goalies who give us a chance to win no matter who starts. And it's good that they are pushing each other to be better P.S. For the most part, it seemed like every Capitals player was trying to feed it to Ovie if he was out there. I know they all wanted him to break the record with Fedorov in the build (which I admit would have been cool), but when nobody else is even trying to take a shot and losing good percentage shots just to pass it to Ovie, well that can't be a winning strategy in the long run.

I was joking, but with a small portion of seriousness. You know how every once in a while somebody makes a thread here to (or tries to) make a serious case for Malby's or Holmstrom's or Osgood's Jersey to be retired.

I like having Abby on the team, Seven years is a bit too much in my opinion, but if he ends up playing it out he'll be 36. That might be retirement age for a guy who plays his style. When I look at it that way it isn't too bad. But...... I'm just going to remind everybody that Dan Cleary is 36 right now (about to turn 37 in a month). His 35-36 year with the wings he was terrible and spent most of the games in the press box. His 34-35 year was probably even more terrible because he was in the lineup more. And to be honest I thought he looked done the year before that (when he was 33-34). I'm not saying Abby will turn into the next Cleary, but it's just something to keep in mind. Not everybody's body deteriorates (or holds up) at the same rate. On the other hand, Holmstrom took a beating over his career and played his last game when he was 39. Abby could get a couple more seasons in. But I don't know the future, it could really go either way with him. I AM worried about him retiring in 8 years and there will be people calling for his jersey retirement (and you KNOW there will be).

Wait, you don't hold grudges against player but you will against a coach. How do you know that he had his pick of any team he want to coach for? It's quite possible that the Avs were the only team to offer him a coaching job, so of course he took it. And the only reason he ended up the head coach was because he was replacing the previous head coach who was fired, then another left the team. Is he supposed to turn down a head coaching job that he got offered?
