Oh jeeze gtfo. Not directed to anyone in particular but..... This "Classy" thing has gone too far. I agree that a certain level of class is expected of a stanley cup team and it's fans. But chanting boos at the opposite team has been happening since long before any of us were born. It's a part of the sport. I promise 90% of the fans chanting Crosby sucks don't actually believe that he sucks. Part of home ice advantage is the ability to cheer your team on, and get into the heads of the opposition. It's part of the game. It has always been a part of the game. A "Crosby Sucks" or a Hossa Boo from the other side isn't classless. It's hockey. Some of you need to get off your high horse. This isn't golf. It isn't synchronized swimming. It's hockey. "Cheers and Jeers" is the proper term for it, and it has been a part of hockey since the begining of time.

"The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used." Tried to use two yahoo addy's, and a gmail one. None worked. Then I used my military one. And that worked. Is this way of ensuring that only people who actually care enough about the team will register? Considering most people use gmail and yahoo. Why restrict those addy's, other than to keep people, like me, who normally couldn't care less about registering, from registering? Apparently, Pittsburgh fans are so sensitive about the things discussed on their forums, that you basically have to go through an initiation to get in

"Ugly, Uglier and Ugliest.......Having to play games on NBC! Have we won a game at all this year on NBC? Combine that with the screen fiasco and I have to say that I hate that network more than ever now! Sorry, just venting." http://msgboard.pittsburghpenguins.com/ind...29374&st=60 Apparently NBC broadcasting the games, makes them lose

Nice. Well aren't you just the cutest little troll ever. Lets analyze. "Good game Wings, you deserved it". Classic opening statement of the troll. It's like telling a little kid you have candy in your car, before you abduct them. Then, you go on to basically just get angry throughout your post. "Interference" "Clutching". Is Clutching a penalty? What about that "Puck Hogging" penalty that should have been called on Datsyuk? Or how about his "Play breaking up" penalty, when he just took the puck away? I assume you must be a pretty high ranking person in the NHL, to be making up rules and penalties now. By "We can't win in Pittsburgh", you're implying that Pittsburgh has EVER done more poorly or that Detroit has EVER done more well, than this last game, in two years of matchups. We were 3-2 last year, and we surely won in Pittsburgh. I'll assume you started watching this year, so you may have missed that. Don't worry, Youtube has it saved. The "We can't lose at home" mentality, is just dumb. All streaks end. Every good team goes on a winning streak on the road, or at home, from time to time. The very "concept" that you cannot "lose at home" shows that all you are relying on is luck, and superstition. Next time you visit her, perhaps next year, perhaps you'll understand that sometimes....you actually need skill to win cups. "Home ice advantage", I know the media has pumped it up for you all playoff long. I know they've made you feel invincible at home, but guess what? I've watched 4 Detroit Stanley Cup Championships. I've also watched, FAR MORE loses, to include loses at home. If you're argument is "We can't lose at home", then take your superstition, and media brainwashing, and just hope you get a good spot at the golf course during the off season.

Because, it's funny. Why do you read the thread, and reply, if you don't seem to think it's warrant. One thread, takes up 1/8th of an inch of space on your screen. Then, you have to manually click that 1/8th of an inch of space, read it, and click reply. Then type. Then hit submit. If you feel like we're wasting your time, how many of the above steps could you have skipped, to get back to your busy day?

And if you think it was only one fan that was delusional about the network making a difference: " I feel the same way. It seems to not matter who or how we play, we lose on NBC alot..a **** of a lot. I would take VS in a heartbeat..now.."
-
I liked this quote: "Home ice means nothing in game 7." By nothing, he must mean, the fact that only one team in history has ever won on the road in game 7. Every other Finals game 7 has gone to the home team. Home ice "meant nothing" in game 5 too.........but a 5-0 win seems to mean a bit

Good call. Jackets was the only genuinely classy team we've played.

Yep. They complain about bad officiating. But then they make the comments they make above? So basically, what they are saying is that they feel the Penguins should knock Datsyuk out of the game, An Instigator is essential because fighting is what they need, kill someone was a suggestion, but they get pissy when they get called for penalties? What are the penguins doing to hockey? Soon we'll have a million hockey fans, who know nothing about the sport, and feel that instigator penalties, hitting injured players with a slash to take them out, and killing people are perfectly acceptable. Any Penguins fan who even dares come to this forum, after tonights game, had either be a very good "hockey" fan, or a complete retard. ----- I'm going over guys. Don't try to hold me back I'll keep it as classy as I can, but I just can't resist this glorious chance to smack around some pens fans with a bit of logic

I don't hate Malkin. To say that is retarded. Listen guys, I s*** talk a lot for fun too. I do agree he lost his composure. I do agree that he was blatantly angry out there tonight. I do agree that he took a few cheap shots. But, as a rule of thumb, the Malkin there tonight, is not the Malkin I've watched play all season, and all playoffs. Am I defending Malkin? Yes. Am I a pittsburgh fan? No. So big f***in deal. He's young. He's generally not a dirty player. Give him some credit. He is a great player. How would you feel if you've been absolutely shut down in a 5-0 loss? This thread is fail. s*** talking is fine. But s*** talking to the point of discrediting a great player, is very, very unsportsman like. Give him his dues. He knows he has to bring it. He knows he has to be more phsyical. He knows he is NOT being the complete player he needs to be. Not necessarily his fault that he's trying to do all those things, in the worst way. Honestly, he's been basically spoon fed. His talent is by far not fully tapped, and his playoff mettle is severely lacking. But to say he's a horrible player? That's just rediculous

First time I read this post, I thought, "C'mon man, don't idolize like this" Games over now, and well, you were more right than I could have predicted Datsyuk didn't score. He had I believe one assist, but his play was all about control, control, control. Anyone else notice the nearly 1 minute span where Dats and Zett just played with the puck to the right of the net. Pittsburgh simply couldn't touch it.

For what reason to people hate Lidstrom?
truebladearmy replied to Greetings from Blueland's topic in General
Lol I dunno, I read it again and honestly, I agree with an above poster. I think it HAS to be a joke. Someone trying to bring out the worst in Pittsburgh fans This line gives it away "Him and his classless European style hockey". Everyone, and I mean even non-hockey fans, know that European hockey is among the cleanest of all. If he was actually that dumb, it would imply he was new to the game, and if he was new to the game, I doubt he could have been bright enough to even know Lidstrom was a European player. Honestly, I think it is a joke ----- Someone should go post that Datsyuk can't be that great, since all we've seen him do is hog the puck, and break up good plays. Imply that his takeaways are actually interference, and they should add a new penalty called "Puck Hogging" simply because of him ----- I know there are a lot of really dumb, overly emotional Pitts fans on those boards. But I am nearly positive some of the worst of them, are fake fans loving making them look like fools. -

The fact that this guy posted this, tells us one thing: We should be welcoming him to hockey, since he obviously just discovered it in time for the playoffs! *Shrug* Maybe he thinks the fact that no commentator, no broadcaster, no analyst in the league would ever say anything is less than the best. I wasn't aware that they issued Norris Trophies to Defenseman multiple times for being nothing more than some cheap elbows and crosschecks. I guess Babcock must be as delusional as the media to play Lidstrom the most of any Defenseman. I guess Bowman was blinded when he brought Lidstrom to glory, and quoted him as being a huge reason for any, and all of Detroit's cups. N00bz will be n00bz -
Well right now, 4-0, Detroit is running away with game 5 :-) Games still got halfway to go, so I'm not implying that Detroit has won it yet. I'm just saying, 4-0 is a good start

Penguins top heavy in talent while Wings more evenly distributed
truebladearmy replied to thegreat66's topic in General
Well, when you double shift your star players, they're bound to crank out more points Not implying it's a bad thing. If you have the ability to double shift Malkin and Crosby, only a fool wouldn't do it. Detroit does it with Zetterberg and Datsyuk in the playoffs as well, but not so often during the season. And to the OP, Lidstrom > Gonchar = Rafalski > Kronwall I have nothing bad to say about Kronwall, but I think he needs a few more years in the league. He doesn't exactly have the experience required to be a truely "Top" defenseman. -
If you cross reference how many points Malkin or Crosby got all season, versus their total ice time, Datsyuk actually scores more points per minute on the ice than either of them. Ie. He scores more often, in less time played. I don't have the stat, but someone posted it here before. In theory, give Datsyuk the kind of time Crosby or Malkin get, and he might well one day take the NHL scoring lead. It'll be awesome if he's back. Not only is he one of our best scorers, and one of the best defensive forwards in the world, but the ice time he can play will: 1) Give Zetterberg some rest, and a little much needed bench time (The dude has got to be running out of gas somewhat) 2) Alleviate some of the pressure on the D, by handling it up front. 3) Strengthen both our PP and our PK, two areas we are sorely hurting 4) Bring back Hossa's dangler Ie. Maybe Hossa will start contributing. 5) Give us some more strength in the faceoff circle. 6) He's pretty much for sure going to get a few take-aways 7) Maybe he won't be at 100% recovered, but he'll sure as hell be at 100% rest. Something nobody else on the ice will have. 8) Morale. Morale. Morale. Datsyuk doesn't just play for the Wings. The Wings play for Datsyuk :-p

One thing I am just sick of from everybody
truebladearmy replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
I agree the officiating has been bad. However, do keep in mind they can't call EVERYTHING that should be called, or else the entire game would be spent on the PP for one team or another. What they "Do" need to start doing is calling for consistent things. For the most part the PP ratio doesn't seem too lopsided to me (Though I haven't checked the stats), but the types of calls they're making are very lopsided. And it's not just in Pittsburghs favor either. I've seen some bad non-calls against Detroit too. I guess what I hate is when you let people get away with blatantly obvious calls, then call piddly crap at another time. The too many men on the ice missed call was one of the worst, because it wasn't just a simple uncalled slash, or uncalled interference.....it was nearly half a minute where one team had a blatant advantage over the other by playing 6 on 5. Then after having just played 5 versus 6 for 20 something seconds, a minute later Detroit goes on the PK. Technically it was like they gave them a 2 minute 20 second powerplay opportunity Those kind of calls you HAVE To make. Fortunately if they had scored on the 6-5, I can almost garauntee it would have been reviewed and disallowed. But the bottom line is Detroit ended up on the PK, during a time when they blatantly (At least if you ask any of the millions of viewers) should have been on the PP already themselves. Miss that call, Detroit doesn't get a PP, instead they get a PK a minute later. Bam. You're losing the game. -
We are watching some of the best Playoff hockey ever. Ignore the calls. Cast aside the blame. What we are seeing here, is a genuine Stanley Cup Finals. It's a rematch, which hasn't happened since like the 80's. It's honestly, the two best overall teams in hockey. It's who most people want to be here. It's tied 2-2. Does it get more ****** exciting than that? If you have a complaint, I say can it. I know some people live their lives around the hopes of a blowout series........ This is real. It's very very difficult to get this kind of hockey, and what we're seeing now in my opinion.... Is awesome I'm even a Detroit fan. I just watched MY team that I've been watching since 1995 get pwnt. I sure as hell don't want them to lose, but I have never been more excited about a series as I am RIGHT NOW.
-
Once again, one game of Kronwall not being excellent, and the sofa coaches strike again. You would give Kronwall less ice time? How many championships have you coached again? :-p Giving Kronwall less ice time, is absolutely retarded.
-
PP has been lagging this series. But I wouldn't discount it just yet. Great PP all year. Great PP all playoffs long. Jesus, you guys act like 1 or 2 games defines a team. Detroit could score 6 out of 6 PP chances game one, but if they go 0-6 in game 2, the threads pop up......."Powerplay sucks now". So big ****** deal. We've had a few bad games. Pittsburgh IS getting better, that much is pretty clear. Will Detroit answer? Will Pittsburgh be able to keep it up? We're at the MOST EXCITING POSSIBLE point in hockey right now. Stop bitching, and enjoy you're hockey

After four games, which team has looked better?
truebladearmy replied to titanium2's topic in General
Oh jesus. Happens in one game. GTFO. I agree that our PK has sucked, and our PP hasn't been solid in this series, but your first sentence is something I'd expect to hear blurted from the mouths of kids getting off a short bus. Pittsburgh clearly outplayed us in game 4. Granted, we had an excellent series of rushes, and had some awesome control, but they opened the ice, and played the game that let them win all playoff long for the first time in the series. I was impressed, to say the least. Never seen any team break down Detroit's defense that well. I still think Wings have the edge, but Pittsburgh sure as hell won't roll over and die -
Defense creates Takeaways. Not often turnovers.
