Kronner, if you watch, plays deep offensively. For every bonehead mistake he does make, he sets up or takes part in a deep play of beauty. He's not a traditional defensemen. And he's creating his "own" role. And he's gotten incredibly good, and unique. He won't be Nick's replacement, but he'll be top line when Nick is gone.

In other news, the Islanders absolutely suck. Even when they score 5 goals, they still lose. They went down two goals. They fought back to take the lead, 3-2. The Rangers then made it 5-3. The Islanders AGAIN scored twice to tie it up. 25 seconds later, they blew it again, and took the L in regulation. Gaborik with a hat trick though. Don't hear much about him lately. Crosby with a Trick too. As much as I hate that guy, he's really pulling ahead in the scoring race. At one point he trailed Stamkos by like 8 points, now he leads by 4 points. Crosby first in goals, first in points, second in assists. 130 point pace. Leads all forwards in the NHL for Time on Ice....though. I'm sure it helps that the Penguins can just shift him over and over. Little punk ***** got skillz. I think it's because HBO is following him around with a camera. He's always been a show-off style attention ***** type of player. ---------- Lastly, just want to point out Datsyuk is .01 Points Per Game higher than Ovechkin right now. 4th in the NHL. Go Pav!

I think they ended it, lol. I ordered it 8 days ago. In the middle of the Washington/Dallas game tonight it kicked me out, and required that I pay. I tried refreshing it and it definitely wants me to pay ) It's not a bad service, I just can't use it often enough for it to be worth what they're asking for it. It's too bad you can't just buy single games. I'd pay like 99cents or something for a game, if I could pay when I was ready to watch one. But when nearly every team has free feeds out there, buying the NHL package is only useful if you plan to watch a lot of games. Other than Detroit games, I usually only catch maybe 1-2 other teams a week. I just thought it was weird that it ended right in the middle of a game. What a tease I'm not worried about getting the rest of the free trial. I wasn't using it to watch Detroit games anyway.

Considering, the final two minutes of each period, accounts for only 10% of the game but 22% of the goals against us, we are over twice as likely to be scored on in the final 2 minutes of a period, than in any other given 2 minute span of the game. 13 goals scored against in the final 2 minutes of each period, or 6 minutes. 46 total goals scored against in the other 54 minutes. We still gotta tighten up those final 2 minutes Conversely, we've scored 12% of our goals in the final 2 minutes. It means offensively, we don't really score more in the final two minutes than we do during the rest of the game. 12% of our goals in the final 10% of each period, versus 22% of our opponents goals in that same span.

It looks like a good show. Usually anything HBO does is. I just hate the fact that it's these two teams. I understand they're building up the Winter Classic (By the time the game comes, people will be hyped to see who actually wins it, so it's really just a huge promo). But I mean, honestly. The Penguins? Interesting thought. If you read the articles by HBO, they literally are filming 24 hours a day, every day. Ovechkin is maybe suffering a bit, meanwhile it seems Crosby is eating the attention for breakfast.

Curly fry is winning by a landslide. The Jr Roast Beef is maybe a slightly better deal, and I'd be more likely to go across town to get one, but that's really not the point. It began Curly fries. It should stay that way. When they yell "Curly Fries!!" After a hat trick, it sounds a lot better than yelling "Junior Roast Beef Sandwich!!!" I almost think Arby's changed it knowing it would not sit well with fans. I bet they predicted a bit of an outrage, and thus free publicity. Hell this if the fifth or six time I've heard about it, and we haven't had a Hat Trick. Each time I hear about it I get this strange hankering for Curly Fries. It's like free advertisement for Arby's 2 minute mark. P.S. Saying Curly Fries during a game, falls into the same category as S*utout.

At first I thought this was going to be a thread about what Superstitions people have. I think it still should be. I grow a playoff beard. If I have a girlfriend, that can really piss them off I can grow a pretty thick beard pretty fast. I don't say words like sh#tout, unless it ends up happening. Then I will say it, but only for that day. Next morning, it's back to not saying it. I do say Hat Trick though, unfortunately, I think I jinxed Hank in the last game Sorry Hank!!!!! I use to have a lucky Yzerman Jersey, that I wore every time there was a game. I couldn't wear it at work, but I carried it around with me anyway. We won the cup the year I had that, but a girl stole it from me. I don't have a lucky jersey now. I want to buy a Datsyuk Jersey, but I refuse to do it until the season is over. Sometimes Jerseys are cursed. I don't want to buy one of the cursed one's by accident, while the season is going on. If it's cursed I won't be able to wear it.

I kind of wish we'd start Osgood against Anaheim on Friday, and Howie against LA. Oh well. Hope for the Back2Back win, but I think LA is going to beat us. No reason really. Osgood is probably going to be a bit rusty, we'll be a bit exhausted from the night before (Anaheim loves goonery). LA has sucked lately though. Lost 4 straight, after being one of the best teams for the first part of the season. Their offense has sucked, which I imagine is why they're playing Osgood against them. Best way to come back after an injury is to play a team that can't score. LA has been good at Home though, 8-2 I think. *Shrug* Ozzie is a pro. He'll figure it out I hate losing to the Kings. I like that team, but their fans are among the worst. I went to a game in LA once, wearing my Redwings Jersey. Had people throw cigarettes at me, someone tossed a full beer at me, and Security had to escort me to, in, and from the smoking area :-p This was years ago, but I imagine the fans still suck.

When the Sharks get their Defense back up to par, they'll be a playoff contender again. I'm not gonna lie. I loved seeing the Eurotwins run rampant through a rookie defense. It was everything I hoped for, and more. If the Sharks had their defensive core healthy, 2-3 of Detroit's goals would not have come so easily, and it would have been a lot closer game. Maybe, but Thornton charges unlike very many other people. Stuart probably wasn't expecting it. He's not exactly a Veteran. Thornton has been eating young defense-men for breakfast for years. And when you say "nothing special", I dunno, I think the Euro twins looked better tonight than they have all season. Datsyuk split 2 D-men to score. He then passed it blindly behind his back, for Hank to score. Hank also knocked one in like he was playing Volleyball. I'm not sure what you consider "Special", but three of 5 goals tonight will be in the highlights for weeks. NHL.com posted a video of Datsyuk. First they titled it "Datsyuk slices through a pair of defenseman". They later renamed it. It is now titled: "Are you kidding me?"

You wouldn't think it, but Ovechkin has a pretty big hate following too. I noticed this when watching videos on Youtube. I'm pretty sure though that most of the Ovechkin haters, are actually just Crosby fans. Was watching Datsyuk videos, and found he had a few haters too. I wasn't even mad. It actually made me smile I don't know if it's just me or not, but I freaking LOVE when people hate on the Wings. It's the same feeling I get when an ex-girlfriend tries to get back with me. That feeling of "OH yeah, you know you love it." As far as Bert, I can see why he was hated during his stint with Vancouver, but lets be honest. That dude has completely reinvented himself, especially this year. Bertuzzi v2010, is not even close to the same man he use to be. It's publicity. If fans vote, and get involved, they are more likely to watch the game. Thus, they can put some expensive commercials on during the break, and hopefully earn a few fans at the same time. Besides, notice there are advertisements on the voting page. If the league did the voting, the guy who sat up until 5 in the morning clicking "Crosby" over and over, probably wouldn't even know the All-Star game existed, let alone watch it. NHL.com makes bank, during the voting process. They want people to vote over and over again. It keeps people on the site, and increases the chance they purposefully, or accidently, click elsewhere. The All-Star game has been a way of "Getting people involved" for years now. Unfortunately, people are stupid. But even stupid people = Money.

It would be better than the current system. Where you vote, then it tallies that vote, and completely resets the form for you to vote again. 5 seconds to create a temporary email address, is 5 seconds longer than the current system takes. Let the fair weather fans have their fun. They can't vote on who gets the Stanley cup. That's what is important. The popularity contest they like to call the All-Star game is pretty worthless. For many fans of other teams, the All-Star game is the most skill they'll see all year. For Detroit fans, every game is funner to watch than the All-Star game will ever be. You really want entertainment, they should pick an All-Star team, and just have them play the Redwings. Now that, would be fun.
