Yeah well, I once bumped into Chuck Norris, and he moved an inch. I am fairly confident, I could take him in a fight. I'm sure a guy flying through the air, playing soccer, and thus smashing into a TV guy, wasn't exactly trying to lay him out. I could claim that one day I broke a peice of wood by falling into it, and could surely thereafter barrel myself through a stone fortress. But, I would just be talking s***. Hudler could probably lay out most normal people. I highly doubt Abbie was trying to injure him at all. And I highly doubt Abbie carried through to the best of his ability.

I think, you're on our forums. That said, I can and will complain, when and how I choose. Secondly, I pretty much guarantee I've been watching hockey longer than most, and very likely longer than you. I can't genuinely make this claim, since I have no idea how long you have been watching Hockey. Thirdly, It's not really so much that I'm "bugged", as it is that ....... well, find any flaw in my argument? ANY flaw? I know s*** happens. So how about this? Instead of discounting my argument with a "Get out of here" style argument, a better alternative for you might be to......read, reply if you have a debate, and shut up if you don't. It's easy enough to tell someone to "Get out". Doesn't do much for your credibility to base you're entire post around that type of statement. You didn't argue any points. If you aren't going to bring something to the discussion, whom exactly are you to ask that someone should leave it? Simply being a "Mature" troll, doesn't make you any less of a troll.

Up 2-1 in the series, and defending Cup Champs. A lot of teams that rely on one or two primary scorers, tend to get those guys open, grind it in the boards, and look for passes out front. Most of why Detroit backs off is to force crap shots, and get back to cover the people who can finish. It might "look" frustrating, but Detroit is generally getting in position to stop passes, and create breakouts. When we run into trouble is usually when we press to hard on the boards, and don't drop back enough. Fighting board battles is like a lose lose situation, if they have a guy like Malkin or Crosby open. Note that those guys rarely push to the boards. Better to fight the boards, get back, and pick up the passes. 5 on 5 it has worked fine for Detroit, all season, all playoffs, and for the last several years. It's not a bad strategy, it just gets confused when 2 guys drop back, and 2 guys fight along the boards, and thus half the team is out of position for the defensive strategy.

Ironically, I think we were all hoping for a win, but expecting a loss. It's not even because Pittsburgh is better. It just always so happens that game 3's tend to go in the favor of the losing team. but, teams down 2-0 tend to lose about 32 out of 33 times

Turnovers are usually the result of "trying to hard".

Perhaps the part where Detroit was yelling from the bench? Mayhap you feel our "Option" is to play like we're on the penalty kill, when Pittsburgh decides to throw extra guys on the ice? Dirty dirty team Talk about our hits, and our play all you want, at least Detroit has NEVER just snuck an extra player onto the ice, and kept him there. Unless you want to imply that your coach, doesn't know when he has 6 on the ice, versus 5? 4 refs, 6 players, and a coach didn't notice. But somehow, 20,000 fans, and a full Detroit bench did. Odd. Very odd. If Jesus played hockey, he couldn't even have accomplished that.

I think half a minute of an extra man on the ice, is a bit simpler than a tripping, holding, or interference calls. Those calls are made based on 1 second of flaw. Seemed to be simple enough calling plays that lasted for 1 seconds. What about the ones that lasted for half a minute damn near? Perhaps pittsburgh should just start out 6 on 5 next game?

Well, just watch the slow mo replay of "Hossa's" supposed slash in game 2. The one where he never even made contact with the broken stick. Lead to one of Pittsburgh.....well nah actually in that case, Detroit had to score it for them.

Explain to me why Orpik can do whatever he wants...

Dear Special ed student, I know you're busy sorting nuts from bolts, but I would like to interfere for just a moment and describe to you that there is a link to unregister yourself, on this board that you, yourself, registered for. Secondly, to ensure that you don't slip getting on the short bus, I want to point out that the steps are slippery when it rains. -
You're implying for 21 seconds, that the best Refs in the league, didn't notice six people on the ice? Guys, trained and honed to make instantaneous calls, didn't notice for 21 seconds straight? Sure bud. What exactly, where they looking for, when they didn't notice for nearly half a minute, there were too many men on the ice? I hate to say it, but I genuinely am starting to believe that Hockey is going the way of Basketball. Ie. If one team is up 2-0, just pretend that 2 refs, and 2 linesman (Any of the 4 of whom can make the call), don't notice for 21 seconds that one team has an extra guy on the ice?

Perhaps, you missed the part were 32 of 33 teams that go up 2-0, win the series. 8 of those the losing team came back to win two, and in none of those 8, did they carry any "momentum" on to win the series. They have all lost.

Detroit accidently scored 1 of Pittsburgh's 2 goals. Malkin got let off for the reason of "Frustration" -------------- Detroit, is still missing it's top face off guy (Although did go 39-16 for faceoffs in game one. Detroit is missing it's best playmaker, and overall best player. 4 of 6 goals have been scored by GRAND RAPIDS players, because we're missing a good part of our lineup. So, lets talk about "luck?
-
Who let Captain Obvious in here?
-
"if if if" You want luck? One goal in game two. Watch the slow mo video, it was scored on a Power play where Hossa did NOTHING. And it didn't even get put in by Pittsburgh, it got put in by a Detroit player by accident. You want luck. WE SCORED FOR YOU. Malkin gets to play game 3. That is luck. Considering the NHL basically redifined an entire rule, that they put into place to specifcally stop what he did, just to accomodate him. You want to talk about luck? Go find a bunch of bandwagon fans, and fester in a corner with them.

For once, a solid post. I do agree that Pens are dump and chasing a hell a lot, and not getting to it after the dump. Not a great style against detroit, who likes to pick and pass. And Crosby has been well covered. As I s*** talked to all the Pens fans where I'm at, he's never had the type of coverage he'll have in Detroit. Detroit has been, and is currently, a defense first team. Not many teams can afford to set their star forwards to pure defense when a top guy is on the ice, but Detroit has had that luxury. I would by no means imply that Crosby isn't amazing. Just that, he usually has a lot more room to work.

Well she opens with "dead wings", which shows us she's obviously a very well educated fan. By "Dead Wings" she must mean "Only 4, the most cups, since she's been alive" And by "Not the best team in hockey" she must mean "Not the Defending stanley cup champs, 2-0 in the finals again" By "Make up rules for Detroit", she must have certainly noticed Malkin isn't suspended. I'm serious. How do I get some of the drugs they have in Pittsburgh?
-
Why is it up 2-0, some people must be hugely pessimistic? Jesus man, at least let Pittsburgh win one, before this kind of post.

By Abel's luck second goal, Are you referring to the one where he skated through 3 defensemen, to score? I just want to check. I mean that usually doesn't happen. Most teams have defensemen that can stop that kind of thing. Funny that Abel skated through three......to score......on a snap shot. So which was more lucky? The fact that three defensemen didn't stop him, or the fact that Fluery let in a soft goal? Or are you implying that it was Abel that was lucky, after he skated through and past 3 defenseman by himself, and sent it into the net? Not sure of your angle here.

Pittsburgh scores one. But Pittsburgh didn't even put it in. Erricson made a mistake and bumped it in. Meanwhile, Pitts fans are complaining that Detroit had SIX lucky goals, and is certain that is why Detroit is ahead, when in fact, Pittsburgh has only put 1 in the net for themselves That Powerplay, that lead to that goal, was a slashing call, which if you view the slow motion video reply, the two sticks never even connected. (The video can be found in another thread, sorry no link off the top of my head) We now have a new rule in hockey, it states: "We make rules, but we can add to them on the fly, and "Frustration of a player" is now a valid reason to take back a call." I just find it amusing. Old school hockey is certainly a thing of the past. I stopped watching Basketball when I started seeing NBA players fly to the ground without being touched, land on their ass hands planted firmly to push them another 10 feet across the floor (My friend and I use to Tivo the games and slow mo it, hehe). As a rule, sports are becoming more and more theatrical. It's kind of sad.
-
I will assume now, that you are a Pittsburgh fan.
-
Clever. Don't get pissy.
-
I was digging your reply a bit until you said..... "a few lucky breaks and live off Fleury once again giving up some bad goals to guys like Hudler and Zetterberg in the 3rd" Guys like Hudler and Zetterberg? By "like Zetterberg" do you mean.......one of the top guys on our team? And by Hudler do you mean.... "One of our best clutch playoff scorers?" Just want to verify.

I meant that. So what, I'm drunk, and was reading vehemently through the forums :-p Didn't catch that I wrote Ericsson. My bad.

You don't win cups by being clean and pure. You don't win games, by being the poster boy of a friendly softer NHL. Hockey is SUPPOSE to be a bit dirty. We could go watch Womens College chess tournaments, if we wanted clean and pure. We were very clean and pure when we faced anaheim a few years ago. Guess what, we lost. We were very clean and pure against calgary a few years ago. Guess what, we lost.

I don't think I was whining. Read my other posts. I tend to be very "non-whiney". But, if that's the word you've got stuck on your tongue, not much I can do about that.
