I think he wants to pass sawchuk on the all-time wins list before he retires. He sits at 389 regular season wins and he needs 59 more wins to pass sawchuk (447) to become 5th all-time. He has two years left on his contract and I don't think he'll quite get there in two seasons. I think he will sign a one year deal after his current contract ,get his wins, and retire at season end. (He will be 39 years old).

Crosby is a great player, but his dives are gettin out of control. I am embarrassed as a hockey fan when the face of the NHL is performing EPIC dives in the Stanley Cup Finals. That was absolutly ridiculous. Maltby barely touched him and he flew forward like he got stabbed in the back. I can respect him for his amazing skill, but I can't respect him when he pulls antics like that. You would never see an Yzerman, Messier, or a Sakic do something like that. BTW, does anybody have a video clip of it?

What the real point of this thread was to acknowledge that Crosby is the face of the league and as that ,these antics are embarrassing.Ya Franzen, Maltby, and others dive, but casual fans outside Detroit probably have no idea who they are, and they don't care. All casual fans know are Crosby and Ovechkin. When they see these players doing dumb s*** like that they are just going to think hockey is a joke. How the hell is hockey going to grow when the league is portrayed by players looking like babies when they embellish injuries. I'm going to love hockey no matter what, but being a huge hockey fan I want other people to enjoy it as well. Take it or leave, that's just my opinion. EDIT: If that doesn't make any sense, sorry. Ya have played for about 20 years. I have been slashed, cup checked, you name it. I go down to the ice when I'm hurt not to put on a scene. Cmon dude, that was a love tap.

I guess I have to say this AGAIN. I know many people on every team, redwings included, dive. That said, no one embellishes to that degree like Crosby. He flew in the air like he was shot, then he layed on the ice for at least 10 seconds, then he limped to the bench. Then surprise, surprise he comes out next shift with what it looks to be with little or no discomfort. If he just fell down a little bit and got right back up I would have no problem, but the fact is he had to drag on the embellishment.

Ya I realize many players dive (including some Wings *cough Franzen cough*), but Crosby takes it to a whole new level. He should really get into acting.

Ok the anger in me has subsided. I agree with the post above. This could be a major wake-up call for Detroit. They have to play with that fire and passion that they have played with earlier in the playoffs. Yes, they look tired, but that should be NO EXCUSE. There are only a possible three games left.
