I've looked at the Hossa play several times in game speed and in slow mo. It is clear that he just lifted Dupuis' stick and then Dupuis spun around and his stick hit Hossa's skate and broke. Great hockey play. Fans of losing teams just see what they want to see. In game speed that may have looked like a hook, but it clearly wasn't.

Even if it was a penalty, the Pens pretty much already got their penalty shot on the Malkin breakaway. Malkin clearly tripped up Kronwall, so that should have been a penalty. It's a wash.

This isn't too bad. Hey IF we win the cup leino, abdelkader, and ericcson will get their names on the cup. -
I looked up every Wings game this year in the playoffs, and when at least 1 of these refs called the Wings games, the Wings record is 9-1! (only loss was OT loss to Anaheim) It looks like all the games were called pretty evenly. EDIT: I also did it for the Pens as well. They were 7-3. Pretty good, but still worse.

I 100% agree. Lebda did a good job forcin to the outside. If Kane didn't make an amazing shot, there wasn't much else he could have done.

Agree. Cheating by use of drugs is just as bad as gambling on the game. (A la Pete Rose).

Way to be optimistic. Have some faith in your team. Yes they are our two best players, but last time I checked this was a team sport. Guys WILL step up. -
I'm not sure on this, but there has to be some sort of drug testing policy in the NHL. Obviously its not as strict as in baseball, but thats mainly cuz the NHL doesn't have any known banned substance problems.

Ya I agree. I don't know why all the hockey "experts" say that NHL officiating is the best in all sports. Sure it is one of the hardest to officiate cuz the speed of the game, but it is no coincidence all the fans complain about the refs. This playoffs I've seen terrible call after terrible call. I wouldn't have a problem if they were consistent. Sometimes they call all the chinsy crap, and sometimes they let things go. Call it one way, please!!

Lots of hockey players juice, even stringy little finesse guys that you wouldn't expect. It is quite possible that this is true, but do you have evidence that lots of hockey players juice? How come you never hear about it in the media? The only player I can think of is Sean Hill.

I guess I would take Rafalski over him, and I wouldn't want him over kronner or stewie. The thing is if he was on our team he would be higher on the depth chart then kronner and stewie. EDIT: I would take Lids over him in a heart beat, who wouldn't?

I don't think that many NHL players use steroids. It doesn't make much sense. I guess it depends on what steroids they are taking, but why would an NHL player want to be big and bulky. All it would do is slow you down. It seems to me it would be much harder to be effective with huge body mass.

I hope Babcock is right when he thinks that they will play in the next game. It is unlikely Detroit will win the cup without both of them. -
