Cool, we signed a good young prospect. I guess we're all set at the deadline.
-
If he were to sign here, would he even play with Datsyuk? by the time he gets up here, Dats will be a year or two away from retirement (say it ain't so!) but he is closer to the end of the road than the beginning. How can you even use that as an incentive? Whereas a young team like Pittsburgh will have all of those same players when he comes up. We don't have young superstars like that.
-
A lot of people said that about Chicago too after their Cup Fire Sale, and they are still hanging around OK. (surprisingly). I have a feeling the Pens will survive just fine. (Unfortunately).
-
He'll come back and do just well enough to make Kenny think he's all set at the trade deadline, then after it passes, he falls apart like the Bluesmobile.
-
His team is on, like a 13 game win streak, and he has added 3 veteran players. He may have given up a few picks, but by the time they hit the NHL roster, the young stars they have now will be 30 and reminiscing about the great playoff run of 2013 fondly. I root for the Wings. But I do admire what he's doing in Pittsburgh. I like aggressive GM's. Sometimes they make mistakes but they are trying. To me it's better than sitting by watching and maybe pulling the trigger at the last minute and paying top dollar.

How can they get rid of Murph and make us endure Darren Eliot? HOW?
-
Saying everything is cool and there is no need to worry is not a good idea. There is a lot to worry about. I'm just hoping the people in the glass office up high are seeing them too.

Calle Jarnkrok - Does he have a chance to make next season's team?

Maybe once we get rid of some of this dead weight and bad contracts there will be roster room. Until then, no. -
Sometimes when a team is too star-laden, they lose their grittiness enough to start something like this. Oh, that's OK, let's let ________ carry us for a while, I'm tired of it. Hey we just signed Rick Nash, whew, I can just kind of chill this season and let him pick up my slack.

Come on Kyle, put a full cage on that helmet and get back out there. Show some stones.

Injured Helm: "Minor Setback", still out indefinitely, *merged*
AtomicPunk replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Hopefully Helm and Bertuzzi can at least be our "deadline acquisitions". I miss Helm. It would be a real shame to have him miss an entire shortened season. -
How dare Perry sign with Anaheim? Didn't anyone tell him he was already being penciled into lines on LGW?
-
Hey, Drew Stafford scored 2 goals tonight! Just saying....
-
Kelly Hrudey is mentioning that Z and Dats are under "extreme pressure" because of all of the players injured. Maybe that's why those things about Dats retiring to Russia started coming out last week. He NEEDS HELP! (well, I think he could play by himself and still be awesome..but you know what I mean.)

Euro Twins > Twins.
-
That was a BS call on Bieksa, he stepped on Z's stick.

wow..is this game hard to watch on west coast time. Between those HIDEOUS Vancouver throwbacks and the sloppy play. I think Vancouver, as an organization, has consistently had the most horrible uniforms, from the flaming skate, to the "V" of black and gold, to the orca, the only one I like remotely is the original stick in box logo. The rest are just straight up awful.

WIthout consulting CapGeek or any of those sites, but how can we not have money to spend after Lidstrom retiring and not being replaced?
-
But when he doesn't score, I mind it.
-
You just saved me a lot of time in May and June, thanks! Seriously, though. I don't think they have what it takes, either. When I watch a lot of other teams, they are faster, work harder, and just have the desire that our boys don't seem to have.

The climate is right for it. They probably are taking advantage of the construction companies lull in work and getting low bids to do the work. I think they now own all the land they need for it now. The architect is the same who did AA in Dallas, as well as Cowboys new stadium and Liverpool new soccer stadium, among others. I'm sure if they have the land and the money, the sight lines will not be the same as AA.That was probably dictated by the maximum size of the building, minus ice size and concourse, = seating area. Even though the AA Arena is just surrounded by parking lots. Let's hope the Wings are not "pinched" like that.

When I compare Franzen to Hossa still, it makes me sad we had to do "one or the other" and kept the wrong one. He needs to do more every game, not just this one night against the Avs.
-
Helm is the only one of that group that, to me, the team would really miss. I'm not a Filppula fan and feel he could be replaced. The others are too young to know for sure, older broken down guys or very replaceable.

Emmerton has had kind of a horrible game...intercepts, getting his stick lifted, turnovers...positional play has not been good either.

is Quincey on the 5-6 pair? Damn. (I'm one of those who wishes we still had the pick.)
