I would trade either Franzen or Flip in a heartbeat for Ryan. He's 25 with 4 straight 30 goal seasons and no albatross of a contract. With Dats or Z feeding him, that's a no-brainer. (in MY book....don't flame me, Flip or Mule lovers..)

Yeah, and they wanted Kirk Maltby to score 50 like he did in the minors. Guess what? Tootoo is not the same player that he used to be. Does not play on the edge any more. That's what made him different. -

This move does not make us younger, hungrier, faster or harder to play against. And he didn't exacly light the world on fire after leaving here. Heck, he pretty much sucked. So why bring him back AND give him a NTC? I could see if it was a sign and trade for someone we REALLY WANT....but this really makes no sense. Get someone up and coming, not someone who's peaked already. -

But why this time is it one that their fans hate too? I always hated Chelios but I RESPECTED him as a great player. I don't have that feeling about Tootoo at all. A glorified scrub. Why would the Wings sign him????????? I really truly hate this signing. -

TSN is reporting that Parise is seeking a 12 million dollar SIGNING BONUS, with an ADDITIONAL 12 million bonus One Year from now. So that would be plus/minus 30 million in one year on one player? If that is true, NO THANK YOU.

I really don't think they are going to get either. What is going to make me upset is if they bet the farm on their ability to get those 2 guys and they missed out on other things they could / should have done. -

Sure, I wouldn't mind if the Wings signed this 2nd round draft pick who didn't play for the Ducks, and has never played in the NHL, but let's not trip over ourselves pushing out established NHL talent to guarantee this kid a roster spot. I wouldn't mind if Quincey walked and we got the picks, BTW.

Detroit is not the only team gunning for Parise or Suter or Ryan or any of these other players. Every team thinks they can land them. I have a feeling we will be picking up crumbs after some dark horse comes and overpays for one of the guys we've targeted. I don't want that but I am not feeling the heat.
