  1. Well we got Ian White, Danny Cleary, and Kyle Quincey. Not to mention Bert and Sammy coming back from injury they might as well be deadline additions. Hard not to be negative when it's clearly the worst Red Wings roster since.. I don't know before Fedorov was drafted?

And there's no way that has anything to do with the best hockey player in the world being out in those two games.

    Mr Holland.....

Yeah, in that dream world it would be. Pretty sure Jarnkrok is not projected to be a number 1 center and Mrazek a Vezina candidate (would be sweet tho!). I think sherwood40 is using a hint of sarcasm here. Many of us might be complaining about being a treadmill team but I don't think anyone here is expecting a 40 year cup drought.

    He'd fit right in.
  5. Someone mentioned the 71 Habs. No idea how accurate that is. It worked 40 years ago I guess!

    time to trade filppula?

    Because Regehr commanded two.

lol no **** Holland locked the core. What I'm saying is with the core locked the way it is (like Chicago) why hasn't Holland signed the role players neccesary to compete (like Chicago) if it doesn't take a genius to do it? Bowman the second coming? Hardly, but as the all time winningest coach he's about as close as you'll get in hockey terms. I'd show a little more respect to the man that directly brought us 3 cups because without him this franchise as we know it aka Hockeytown would look a LOT different today. Anyways that's about enough hyberbole I want to entertain from you. Beam me up Scotty,

Looks like you're missing the point entirely. Regardless if it doesn't take a genius then why hasn't Holland done the same thing with Dats, Z, Flip, Kronwall, and before this year Lidstrom.

Give me a break that you're insinuating that I think Scotty had anything to do with the drafting of those players. You don't think Scotty had a hand in the massively retooling that included many of those players listed? Everyone here thought the Hawks handcuffed themselves into a cap space disaster with their all in cap run yet here they are 3 years later the class of the league with their entire core intact + Hossa. No one believed they'd be able to keep Toews, Kane, Sharp, AND Seabrook.
  10. Either we're a rebuilding team that plays plugs over prospects and doesn't trade ufas for picks or we're a reloading team that doesn't use it's massive capspace for anything but the occasional veteran retread. Genius.

Obviously after he left as an adviser. Also led with the rise of Chicago as the elite team in the division.

    time to trade filppula?

Well if we were a 15th seed at least we'd be getting a Seth Jones
  13. Well Abby is simply dumb if he thinks this roster has any shot. Even if Franzen caught fire and we suffered no injuries this team would not be able to sustain a high enough level of play. Instead I'll root for us to continue our playoff streak, look for improvement in our younger players, and root for Dats to make 2nd allstar team and the Selke.

That Holland statement makes no goddamn sense. Sounds like a bad term paper from a freshmen philosophy class. It sounds like he's following the Pistons rebuild plan and we all know how that's turned out. It's embarrassing to see him complain and make excuses in the media acting like he's handcuffed with this roster (that he put together) and theres nothing we can do. it'd be one thing if we were playing Tatar and Nyquist in the top 6 but we arent. There's stop gap galore on this team for no reason and he managed to trade none of them. We have millions of cap space freed up. More than enough to make major moves while being safely under the cap yet he acts like we've got measly pennies. Let Lids retire without making a run and Pavel is next. No ****ing balls. We were a middling team before Scotty came and we've been one since he's left. Coincidence?

Could Kenny be working on something HUGE?

Kenny working? On something huge? Not unless it involves a returning underachieving Red Wing. The balls of this organization left when Scotty went to Chicago.

    Mr Holland.....

    Agreed!

    Mr Holland.....

I'd love Gabby, definitely a risk though. Not quite a playoff performer either. He won't solve everything but it'd be exciting.

    Regehr to Kings. Per Dreger

Traded to Buffalo by Calgary with Ales Kotalik and Calgary's 2nd round choice (Jake McCabe) in 2012 Entry Draft for Chris Butler and Paul Byron, June 25, 2011. Buffalo got more value for him than the Flames did 2 years ago.

    Bouwmeester to Blues

The Detroit model is always have 30+ mil freed up cap space go to waste cause you never know with the salary cap era. Heaven forbird we use it with our core locked up in lifetime contracts. Might need to overpay for the Carlo Colaiacovos of the world.

    Bouwmeester to Blues

Good trade for the Blues. Feel bad for Flame fans. Trading their core (albeit old/crappy core) away for scraps. Hopefully one of those picks pan out.

Brunner hasn't hit the wall. He has slammed into it.

It sucks he was looking like the real deal this year (like who's Hossa?). He looked dangerous out there today about the only positive thing I saw all game. Had a couple nice releases. I'd like to see him with Pavel maybe move Franzen with Z.

Kazakh player killed by hit to head

Pregnant wife and a daughter, tragic. RIP

    Mr Holland.....

I'm all with that. I've never had a problem with trading away our low first round picks for established talent. The problem was the player we traded for. The trade has been beaten to death so I won't say anymore.
