When everyone plays their best hockey this looks like a completely different team, wow. Best game of the year.

If we can get that exact route through the playoffs I can agree with the percentages. We dodge all the experienced and healthy teams. Tampa has major injuries and NYI has no goalie if Halak is still out by the 2nd round. Florida gets dicey but maybe we have a chance (lol) with their lack of experience. If we get paired against Pitt or WSH we get blasted out of the playoffs. I guess we'll find out if we have a chance in a series vs Philly by tonight.

And then taking the champs to game 7 OT. Lilja-esque giveaway from Quincey from possibly going all the way. That was a good run for the regular season we had. Probably the best run since 09? Or maybe the almost comeback from 3-0? I can't remember which year it was but one of those Sharks series were stolen by the refs. I still remember the phantom calls on Bert at crucial times. We were some puck luck away from making some decent runs but at the same time it was frustrating how Kenny would never make the big move to push us over. And here we are now the same situation but older and not as good. The team's really relied on the vets to turn it up in the playoffs but since last year Kronwall and Z have really fallen off a cliff. I don't think we give a team as good as Tampa last year much of a fight this time around.

It's not unheard of in other sports. Eli Manning QB of the Giants did the same thing (wouldn't play for San Diego) and honestly no one really seems to care. I don't know what that says about Hockey or Football fans, but Lindros isn't the only guy to have ever done this. I'd say he gets in eventually. The guy was a household name for a good 5 or so years. Not many Hockey players get to that level of fame or notoriety. Maybe 4 or 5 a generation.

I don't understand why Stamkos would sign here. If he wants to win TB has a better present and future than we do (and most teams). If he wants popularity and money it's Toronto. If he wants something in between there's plenty of other places. Was he a big Sergei/Wing fan growing up? I'm not complaining, I'm just not giving my hopes up.

Bernier has not been an NHL quality goalie this season... stop making him into Patrick Roy.

I mean DD was right there all he has to do is give the player a shove and tell him to get off our guy... so sad.

Can we give Andreas Anawhatshisname top 6 ice time? He's the only player that creates his own offense right now. At the very least can he not be last in ice time? I was being snarky but seriously the guy looks like a stud right now. I get not giving him a ton of ice team since he's a rookie and probably blows coverages and spots but if he's our best offensive player right now freaking unleash him until someone else steps up. 9 min of ice time tonight after scoring 2 goals last game and creating a spark every time he touched the puck tonight. The offense is anemic and the playoff window is closing, stop waiting for the vets to do their job.

Each of our top 6 would have 6-8 more points if the power play was just a little less terrible.

Not sure I'd use a word as strong as "stellar". Kronwall is prone is the same mistakes as Smith. When Quincey is your safest bet it doesn't scream cup contender.

I'm happy as long we can can ship out some of the deadweight and shelter Green with defensive minded Dmen.

I like him too but I don't think we're one veteran away from making a push, we've tried that with Alfie and in theory Modano. We need to address issues that are more core to the team like revamping the defense. But If he came cheap I woudn't complain.
