If wishes were horses beggars would ride. Again, if you were asked before game 1 in October if would you take one game at Joe Louis Arena would you have said yes or no? It doesn't really matter how you get to a game 7, you're in one. Hell yes I'll take my chances with his team, having last change, and Osgood having a Conn Smythe type playoffs.

Good lord people. We get a game 7 AT HOME where we're 11-1 for the Stanley Cup. If someone had said would you take ONE GAME, AT HOME for all the marbles in October what would your response have been? Chill pills people. The Wings are a prideful team, and they'll respond in kind Friday. If they don't they didn't deserve to win the thing anyhoo. My guess is game 7 will look a little like game 5. Getting riled up and ranting at Hossa isn't going to bring game 6 back.

They have clinched every series but one on the road since the Cup title in 2002, In the enemies building, in front of frothing, loud, vile, hate filled fans, against teams playing desperate hockey. They've been to this spot before. All of them but Marian Hossa and ya know, I just bet you might get some special effort from him tonight. The Wings don't wilt in games like this. In most cases this bunch closes out a team when they have the chance. In two games they didn't close teams out in an elimination game, one they lost by a goal at Anahiem against a phenomenal team, and last year it took Pittsburgh three overtimes and the best game Marc Andre Fleury has played in his life. The Wings will give full effort and they have, for the most part, a healthy and RESTED crew. These are the Red Wings we're talking about. They've been here before. Many times. They know the routine. Meet ANOTHER young captain from the state of Pennsylvania. He came into the NHL with MUCH fanfare and the league spent countless hours and millions on promoting him as the NEXT ONE as well. He put up huge numbers. He won a lot of hardware early in his career. This young captain also led his team into the Final vs the Red Wings. It's a cautionary tale for young Mr. Crosby should the Wings win this year too. Pretty soon you reach your saturation point and fans start to think they've seen and heard everything you can do and suddenly they move onto somone else.

I love the Red Wings and there is an outside shot I'd be taking Friday off and driving back to actually BE at game 7. But seriously, I hope there's NOT a game 7.

Wings fans at the Joe don't normally resort to _____________ sucks chants, I think considering the source and the reason behind it, and the quick ability to get people behind it, it worked and worked WELL

I'm with you, only guys who will have long careers with the Wings or have already had long careers with them. AND they have to have won a cup with the Wings. I still see the odd Wendel Clark 71 jersey wandering around Joe Louis Arena

I'm ordering a new one myself. I know the feeling of trying to decide. I have two white ones, one is an Yzerman while the other is just the jersey. I'm thinking a red Zetterberg with the Stanely Cup patch to look good in in and around the Preudential Center and MSG when the Wings come out this way next season...
