No worries, they outplayed Pittsburgh on their home ice in a game Pittsburgh HAD to win. Not exactly the desperation you'd expect the Pens to play with. That being said a loss is a loss and we'll move on to game 4 where we had great success againt Pittsburgh last year. They didn't get dominated as many Pens fans were expecting, they were in a good position to win, they just came up short. It wasn't the refs, it wasn't missed calls, it was Pittsburgh scoring one more than the Wings. Certainly nothing to panic about.

I knew a guy in high school and we played football. He got stepped on and hid cup suddenly inverted from the pressure. He was unhappy and ran off the field screaming in pain

I hit Hossa 52 times in 60 seconds then my phone rang. It was Colin Campbell. He said MY suspension stood

Thanks!

People have bet against this team for whatever reason for years now. Too old, too Euro, not hungry enough, too many passes, sometimes too injured, the other team is talented too, the other goalie is red hot and on and on and on. They won all their road Final games in 1997, 1998 and 2002. They won game 4 and 6 last year against Pittsburgh. Who can forget the 2-0 game 6 win in Colorado in the WCF in 2002. Game 4 in Anaheim up against it, game 4 in Chicago where it all could have gone wrong. This team will come out and play a SUPERB game tonight. Why? Becasue it's what the Detroit Red Wings do this time of year. Will a Kenyan runner win the Olympic marathon? Yes. Why? Because it's what they do. The Detroit Red Wings don't have the pressure on them, the Penguins DO. Young eager teams make terrible mistakes in such situations. You watch, if the Wings score first, the panic will set in on the Penguins side. They'll keep waiting for the next bad bounce or the next thing to go wrong or the next Zetterberg big save in the crease. Watch Hossa tonight, you watch him stick it to the Pens and their fans. As much as they have been waiting for this night, so has he.

Luckily, ALL the pressure is on ONE player tonight.... THIS guy. He's not a stand up style goaltender like Terry Sawchuk, he's not a butterfly goalie like Patrick Roy or Martin Brodeur, he's not a flopper like Dominik Hasek, and he's not a hybrid like Chris Osgood, no this guy is working on perfecting the caffeinated squirrel style of netminding which can be easily recognized by trying to swat a puck away from your goal line with your rear end or "tail". Marc Andre-Fleury, show us some of that caffeinated squirrel style, show us how to use the tail! Now, let's watch that tail style save again Yes fans, it's a new style of netminding to be sure. Marc Andre-Fleury is revolutionizing this game we love. He even makes a great entrance onto the ice with his caffeinated squirrel style: Who better to have ALL the pressure on him tonight that this legend in his fans minds?

Alex, I'll take Sergei Bautin for $200 A chain smoking defensemen, you can't get better than that
-
If you could have your pick of ONE forward, ONE defenseman and ONE goalie going forward to make your franchise one of the best in the NHL, who would you go with? Don't worry about a salary cap for this, just tell us your three guys you're building around and why... Oh, and your team Dr. will of course be Dr. Rahmani and Al Sobotka will be your building manager
-
Honestly, I don't think Pavel will be back this year. Just a hunch but I think we're holding out hope for something that isn't going to happen.

Man some of them have some real time on their hands
-
Thank you my friend. I love a good set up

"No, no, it's OK Geno stop crying, the Wings are NOT going to let Lilja come out on the ice after you...."
-
Penguin fan tears are so VERY VERY nourishing nom nom nom
-
Maybe it's not his foot at all. MAYBE he got some bad LASIK follow up. I blame Dr. Rahmani, you should too

Here's the Malkin meltdown from front to back. Note how he clubs Zetterberg with is stick TWICE and then punches the official in the back trying to hit Zetterberg after Z bashes his face three straight times. Face facts, if say, Kirk Maltby had done this, he WOULD be serving the AUTOMATIC suspension but in BettmanWorld®, the name on the back of your sweater (and in this case the team logo on the front) matter more than the crime And by the way, is Malkin's sweater tied down? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well since I see 172 'guests' here right now let me be clear and give them something to post on their wittle board Your team is NOT better than the Red Wings. You weren't last year, you're not this year. Penguins fans make more excuses than any other fans I've ever seen. The Final schedule was put in place to help you and help Conan O'Brien get ratings. Thus far, EPIC FAIL. Suddenly the Penguins look like the injured, older slower team and the Wings are making their own breaks. In building up Crosby and Malkin up into superheroes who make no mistakes, the Wings role players like Abdelkader and Helm and Ericksson are outshining the faces of the Bettman NHL. Put that in your pipes and smoke it. The Wings horrible goalie, this Osbad will cost them the cup, it's why most of the 'experts' said Fleury had the advantage in that category coming into the Final. Osgood's a sieve looking for a place to happen, it's why his GAA since he took over for Hasek last year is under 1.60. Fleury's caffeinated squirrel style of netminding is brilliant, utterly unbreakable. I'd personally like to give a shout out to all the series prognosticators who in breaking down the series said they saw advantages for the Red Wings in almost all categories and YET they were picking the Penguins because of, well, they just had a hunch. The Pens were a year older, and wiser and had learned SO MUCH in their loss last year that they HAD to win. The rules governing the game have already been changed to protect Malkin from suspension so please, stop sniveling about the puck on Osgood's back, stop crying about the supposed ghostly interference the Wings are always somehow committing, and for the love of god please stop crying about Hossa, he played for you for 3 months. He made a choice, stop peeing your diapers over it. Thus far it looks like he made the right choice. Imagine that, a pro athlete who doesn't just play for money, he plays for the team trophy. And a personal message from me to the 172 guests, and this is MY comment and does not reflect on the management here: Penguins hockey, real popular since the 2005 draft

Great gut check game by the Wings. They fell behind. Pittsburgh gave Detroit their A game. The Wings never gave up a goal to go down 2-1 or to let Pittsburgh tie it at 2-2. They held the fort. They got the 3rd goal and from there they took it to the Pens. For all the talk about how injured the Wings were, how tired the Wings were, how young and hungry the Penguins were, it's 2-0 Wings and the Penguins high flying offense has two goals. Sometimes a veteran team finds way to win, they just do

I loved that the officials had to come to his rescue

I LOVE the fact NBC pointed out that Cindy still lives in Mario's basement. Maybe it's just me but I think the overrated face of the league should get his own place......after 4 years
-
That was a great save on Malkin's breakaway by the Wings defensive system
-
One thing is still apparent, Zetterberg is STILL better than Crosb. Crosby had 2 shots and was a -1. Crosby was only 30% on faceoffs. Good night's work Cindy, NOT
