I'll trust in Mr. Holland and Mr. Yzerman to make the RIGHT choice on this matter. Hossa is a great talent, he's sharp at both ends of the ice. On the other hand, the Wings won the 08 Cup without him and WITH Samuelsson and Hudler. Really it's a win-win proposition
-
If he wants to play one more year it'd be nice to see him get a chance to play in Chicago with an up and coming team for say 20-30 games a year for 6-8 minutes a night. He's earned no less.

Mac's probably got more in the tank than Getzlaf at this point

OK, don't get after me about looking ahead, this entire board can have ZERO effect on what happens on the ice. If you are superstitious about things, hit your BACK button now Let's SUPPOSE the Wings finish off Anaheim and beat either Vancouver or the Blackhawks and move onto the Finals like we're all hoping (and let's face it, expecting). All the four teams reamining in the Eastern Conference have LOST to the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Finals. Interesting tidbit that I don't know if anybody has brought up.... Pittsburgh? Won a cup against them in 2008 Carolina? Won a cup against them in 2002 Washington? Won a cup against them in 1998 Boston? Won a cup against them in 1943 Obviousy the Wings could only play ONE of them but the Red Wings have beaten all four Semi-Finalists in the Eastern Conference this year in the Finals.

I can't wait for game 6 so I can watch in TeeVee, not some internet feed

4-3 isn't good enough in a pivotal game. Easy to remember back to 2002 when they lost to Colorado in OT in game 5 setting us up for ulcers before the 2-0 game 6 win. If the Wings have had any bugaboos the last couple decades it's overtime and game 5's
-
I've been saving this comment ALL DAY. This gets the monkey off our backs in Game 5's at home. The Wings record in such games lately hasn't exactly been good.
