Me Love You when it things post here on. LOL

I can show you the proof of the Pens having too many men on the ice. Can you show us the Proof of Zetta breaking the rules? Ok, now go back to Penspoop.com
-
Not only are you dead wrong, because this is a call that is automatic when it is this aggregious. When players are making a change they are supposed to be given 5 feet of leeway. So first off this call is automatic. Second, how could he have not been helping their offense? It sure is easier to keep a puck in the offensive zone with 6 players, and create confusion for the D. Whether the guy played the puck or not is irrelevant. It allowed the Pens to have 4 guys down low forechecking. Creating a 4 on 3 down low in favor of the Pens.
-
FAIL!!! Actually while it may be the linesmans responsibility to look for too many men, ANYONE can make the call.
-
You can definately make it harder on one team in a series. Ala starting a finals on 2 days rest (finals being moved up), and then forcing the team with short rest to play back to back. You can rescind automatic suspensions (Yeah I heard the BS explanation, tell me when a player starting a fight IS NOT trying to send a message?). You can give one team more PP's in the series, and the games. You can make calls at certain times, that have been let go all game long etc.... All of which have taken place, and have benefitted one team more than the other.

Yes we are discrediting the 5 on 3 we got with 18 seconds left in the game because the game was already decided. Here they are Game 1 Pens- 2 Wings-1 Game 2 Pens- 1 Wings-1 Game 3 Pens - 3 Wings - 2 Totals Pens- 6 Wings- 4 Shockingly the Pens have the advantage in PP's. Talk about breaks, lets talk breaks in game 3. How bout that 21 second extra attacker the Pens were allowed to have. Or the Elbow/crosscheck to the face Franzen took. Not to mention the couple other times that even the announcers said the Pens were lucky to not get a call there. What a joke. I wonder if the wings will have ONE game this series where we get more PP chances??
-
Read between the lines people. The Pens will have a 3 to 1 ratio advantage on PP's tonight. This shouldn't shock anyone as last year everytime the pens got down in a game the Penalties starting raining down on the wings. This is the easiest prediction I have ever made. Anyone want to take a bet on the Pens getting more PP's than the wings tonight?
-
And yet some more breaks for the Pens. In both games they get the first PP on our home ice. In game 1 they got the first two PP's back to back and couldn't convert, and in game 2 they got the first PP after we had dominated the first 10. The Pens get the first goal, and waste the opportunity they are GIVEN. Lets see if the Wings get the same type of break at Mellon. Yeah right, we all know that Colon, and Buttman won't let that happen.
-
Ok I will bite and provide the typical Pens fan argument (as seen on any pens message boards, and some pens fans on here)....Game 6 shouldn't have ever even gotten to 3-2. The goal you all scored on the PP was a result of a Pens Player (cannot remember whom, but you can watch the youtube video of this) slashing the stick out of our dman's (Lilja) hand, and then his man (Hossa) was able to get the deflection on the PP about 10 seconds later. Then the last second shot you refer to......should have never even come to fruition because of the trip on Datsyuk as he was racing down towards the empty net (in the neutral zone) was not called. So I guess, what I am saying is that game 6 wasn't even as close as it was......BTW, if we are going on all that type of speculation then the wings could have just as easily won in 4 or 5 games last year as they did in 6. But that didn't happen, much like the Pens beating us everytime at home didn't happen. I see your perspective, but look at it like this. The Pens had to do everything they could to win their 2 games last year. One triple overtime game where the wings allowed a late goal to tie it up, and another where the wings were within one down to the buzzer. Just sayin, you could look at it a couple different ways. I will say that I think this Pens team is better, but I also think (that when healthy) this wings team is the best team in the NHL (bar none). I just think that the Pens are awfully lucky that Dats, Lilja, Drapes, and Kops are out of the lineup or it would have been much like last years matchup. With the injuries, these teams are much closer to even. And even if Dats comes back, who knows how effective he will be able to be. Might have some skating issues.
-
Same as last year from you guys. Never willing to admit you were beaten by a better team. At least in the first two games. The reason teams hit posts is they are under pressure. Pressure that maybe they wouldn't be under against another team. You make your own breaks, and the fact the wings won the first two games (back to back, on short rest, and without the MVP candidate) speaks VOLUMES!!! So don't give me this wings getting ALL the breaks BS because that is what it is.....BS. It will be interesting to see how many PP's the Pens get in game three. Speaking of breaks, the Pens got another with with Malkins suspension being removed (cough, cough, way to go Gary) Not only did the Pens catch a break on the scheduling (and injuries), but apparently they don't have to follow the same rules as everyone else. And you wanna come here talking about breaks!!!!

You do realize the Wings were outshooting the Pens until going into a defensive shell in the third last night right? It took a 12-3 effort for the Pens to outshoot us, and it was because we went into a non-attack mode with the lead. You also realize the lack of rest we had going in right? I agree the Pens have played better, but as a wings fan you should be ashamed at the lack of confidence you have in your own team. How many times do the wings have to do it for you to become a believer? Just curious.

This series is not over yet (by a long shot), but I was wondering if you had the time to review the posts on both the message board at the Pens NHL site, and at LGP yet? You know the 10,000 topics and posts where they give the Wings ZERO credit for the first two wins? Basically blaming the losses on everything from the Refs, to the boards at JLA. And you want us to not make excuses if we lose? To me it speaks volumes that the Wings are able to keep winning without Dats, Drapes, Lilja, and Kops. That is some serious depth. Try to imagine if you will.....the Pens playing (the wings) without Malkin, Talbot, Scuderi, and Adams. I think that comparison is pretty close.
-
So far the Pens have 3x as many. Yes it is only 3 to 1, but this post will attempt to keep track throughout the series. Pens- 3 Wings- 1
-
Lets go wings. A win tomorrow would be huge!!!! Let's bury them.
-
My only problem with this post is this......Before the Finals last year over on the Pens board they gave us ZERO credit whatsoever, and all the talk was about why not to fear the wings, and how the Pens would walk all over us. (Folks were even being presumptious enough to talk about......How many games before wing fans start complaining about the officiating!! Those were actual posts on the board. Then after we won, all the talk was about how we only won because all's we do is clutch and grab.....and how if the NHL called the series like they do in the regular season, the Pens would have beaten us. Now you want us to be nothing but congradulatory if the Pens were to win? Comon, get real. My other problem is this. As a Pens fan, do you really think the Pens would be the same team without either Sid or Geno, + 3 other regulars from their lineup? Really? I have no problem admitting when someone is better, heck the lions are the worst team in the NFL, and I have no problem saying it. But, I really feel like if this series had started a week from now, the Wings would have been the much better of the two teams. This early start evened things up alot. I will say, that I think the Pens are a much improved team over last season. IMO, their only weakness is on D. Orpik and Gonch are solid, but after that....... If the Pens ever get that solidified then they are a dynasty in the making.... IMO.
-
I disagree on the injury thing being overplayed. Having 6 regulars out of your lineup is a pretty big deal. One which most teams wouldn't survive (especially in the conference finals) It also takes a toll on the legs (jump) of the guys covering for those guys. Oh, and because I don't want to quote another one of your posts (most of the stuff you have said I agree with), but I also disagree with the Plus/minus thing. To me that is one of the most important numbers in hockey, and here is why. If a guy has 50 goals, we say WOW what a player, but if his plus/minus is -2.....that means his line gives up a ton of goals while he is out there. What this means.......the guy is a great goal scorer, but a liability playing D. And as many youngsters in Detroit have learned is that D comes first. If you don't Play good D, you don't wear the winged Wheel. To me, there is no bigger stat than the +/-, it is indicative of you well you play when matched up even strength against other teams lines.

I do think that the Pens system under Blysma, getting aggressive of the forecheck, is a much better fit.....and the Pens responded well to it. I think something that is overlooked in the regulars season though is that Blysma had more pieces than Michelle. They made some good moves before the deadline. They are much deeper than they were under coach T. I do think that this series is about timing. If the NHL had gone with the original schedule, I would take the wings in 6 just like last year. For many reasons I think the original schedule benefitted the wings more than Pitt. We would have gotten a chance to get healthyl, the Pens are hot right now, the wings are a veteran team that would probably handle the wait a little better. JMO. I think the NHL robbed itself of the best on the ice product by doing this wacky scheduling change. With the move up however, it is much more difficult to call. I REALLY believe the move up to this weekend benefits the Pens. In many ways....they are hot, our health, we are playing on not much rest (yes that extra day will make a little bit of difference) back to back games at home sux etc.... Bottom line is this......When both teams have a full lineup the wings are the best in the league, hands down. However, the league (whether on purpose or not) has set the Pens up in the best possible scenario for them to win. No matter what you call it, that part is true IMO. Hopefully Dats is healthier than they a letting on, and he is ready to go. It just wouldn't be right for both teams to not have their best players on the ice. I wouldn't want to beat the Pens without Crosby or Malkin. It just wouldn't be the same. It's a shame the league is more worried about what NBC thinks, than doing the best thing for their players and the fans by putting the best product on the ice. The best product, is not watching two teams skate tired on Sunday.
-
It's the combo of the two that really blows. 2 days off (not as fresh to begin with) followed by back to back. SUX!!! So it isn't quite the same for both teams. You'd be amazed at what that extra (3 days off) before a series will do for yer legs.
-
While it is hard to judge jake, IMO the Pens are actually a little better TEAM than they were last year. Their D is still suspect though. That is the one area they need to improve. I would also be a little concerned as a Pens fan about using Malkin and Crosby on those 3rd and 4th lines double shifting. If the series goes long it could wear on them. Although if it goes long, the wings are banged up....so who knows. I will say this, when the wings are healthy they ARE the best team in hockey. Anything could happen though in the SCF, especially with injuries, and this ASSANINE (sp?) the NHL put together for the Finals. IMO the schedule favors the Pens.
-
I don't see the VS guys being this way. Well except Jones. And he has had a hatred for us for years. He never picks us to win any series, and it is quite humerous.
-
You forgot to mention that 3 of those 4 would normally be in Grand rapids playing. Remember, the wings were without Lidstrom (or as you probably call him Lindstrom), Ericsson, Lilja (3 0f our top 6 D), Datsyuk, Draper, and Kops. Now that's some serious depth....when a team can be without 6 players that are part of the normal rotation, and still win in the conference finals that is saying something. I will say the league did you all a huge favor in moving the finals date up to this weekend. This is your best shot to beat the wings. IMO, when both teams are full strength the wings are much deeper, and a better all around team. This is your best shot Pens, don't blow it.
-
I love it when an uneducated fan (newbies to the NHL) think Sid is the best because the marketing tells them so. Best all around forward in the game!!!
-
You make me laugh. Oh california boy. So your willing to admit the league is doing this schedule change for ratings......right? So then let me ask you this....If the league is willing to change the SCF for ratings.....Who is the poster boy for the league? Ok, now that you got that answered, here's the next..... In Bettmans world, whom would it benefit the league more to win the cup? The Poster boy (s) or the same team as last year? Oh, and the next question.......What are they comparing this series to? Edmonton vs. Islanders???? How'd that turn out? Lets wait and see who get's more 5 on 3's
