Kirill Tyutyayev, he's from Yekaterinburg. Datsyuk 2.0 100%. Someone called it earlier. Also had better stats in the MHL than Podkolzin. Probably doesn't f*** bears though, judging by his pic. Disappointing.

What makes you think that? It wouldn't save them any money. And even though he's a thousand years old, he still put up decent numbers, and hasn't missed a game since the Eisenhower administration. He could be a solid depth player for them, especially if Williams retires. -
Yeah, so suck it Uwe Krupp and what I assume is probably at least one other guy.

Anyone know if Lavoie played on a line with Zadina?

Kaliyev, Brink, Lavoie, Leason, and Dorofeyev ...and five picks ahead of us. Not quite excited yet.

My points are not imaginary, I print them out on actual paper. I'm building a fort, nothing in the world is more real.

I'm not arguing anything. You said something stupid so I pointed at you and laughed. I like laughing at people; it shines a ray of hope on my blackened soul, and helps me focus on diversifying my investment portfolio. I think. Honestly not even sure if you're that guy or not, so this might not make sense.

Hilarious post considering Holland made exactly this kind of move two picks later. Could also say the Cholo pick was a similar move as well.

Start the adventure the right way -
Which might mean slightly more than jack s*** if you were the only team in the league. Unfortunately for you, you're not and the other 29 teams aren't going to collude to let you f*** over Vegas. Sorry to shatter your dreams. By your deranged logic, NY didn't "need" Trouba, so WPG should have had to be the one to pay. Look, I'm not going to expect you to understand reality or become a sane person or any other fanciful notion, and in the highlight reel of "Bats*** Stupid Stuff Leftwinger Has Said" this probably wouldn't make the Vol.3 DVD Extras section, but trust me: Stastny is an asset some team will want.
-
Mock drafts just can't help but link Holland to a Swede, even though the only time he ever took one in the first round was Kronwall, because people remember that time when the Wings had a bunch of Swedish players.
-
Are you high, or do you not know who Paul Stastny is? He put up 42 points in 50 games this year. Injury aside his contract was a bargain, and even if he were to fall back to 45-50 point range it isn't notably bad. Someone will pay them to get him, not the other way around.

Wait, wait, wait... Kip calls you cynical for suggesting that Trouba's relationship, and/or his fiancee's career plans, will fall apart, and your defense is not that you were joking about that stuff happening, but just that you were joking about laughing if it does? -

Nielsen (50%) for Pulu and Manning. They get a good 3rd line defensive center for minimal cost this year, and fairly cheap the next two, and it only cost a kid who's probably a bust. We get a small chance of good young player, and all it cost us is a little dead cap space. -
Yes, even compared to the handful of other prospects who play in the pros. As an 18yo, Erik Karlsson scored 10 pts in 45 games in the SHL, and was also loaned to an Allsvenskan team for 7 games, scoring 1 point. Here's some all-time PPG rankings for U19 defensemen to play at least 20 games in the SHL (top list) and Allsvenskan (bottom). Nothing about these lists to suggest that offensive production (or lack of) at that level indicates anything. The fact that Broberg is in there at all at 17yo is why he's considered a high end prospect. 2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

So much wrong here: One: Trouba didn't have any choice in where he was traded. Maybe Chevy wanted to be nice, maybe Trouba somehow got the word out that he wasn't interested in going anywhere else, or maybe that whole thing was bulls*** and Chevy just took what he thought was the best offer. Two: The residency thing is part of the reason they wanted to leave Canada. Nothing about that story says anything about NY specifically. Three: You're assuming that Trouba would otherwise not want to go to NY. Four: Making career decisions is often how things in life become certain. Five: No decision he can make will permanently define anything. Anything can be modified later. -
Seems logical, I know, but it's just not the way it works. Take a look at top 10 picks from Europe from the last several years. Stats are generally unimpressive for those playing in the men's leagues.

I don't think you understand how years work. Not at Yzerman though. Poser. -
I wasn't actually comparing it to the AHL, just trying to say that "dominating their league" isn't a very good standard for judging European prospects. Almost all the best ones play in the pro leagues, and they are rarely dominant. I don't want to debate the relative strength of different leagues, because that is only part of the equation. Euro leagues tend to be lower scoring, and I would guess it's somewhat harder for a young kid to earn a top spot. If they were just "easy" leagues, the good European NHL players should have dominated, but for the most part that isn't the case. Even Ovechkin and Malkin didn't dominate in Russia. Put the top NA prospects in Allsvenskan I don't think they'd have anywhere near the same numbers. The same goes for almost all the Euros: Podkolzin, Seider, Soderstrom. Have to look beyond the stats much more than with NA players.
