What Was Your Favorite Game This Season?

Would have to say the scoring explosion that ended 5-4 at Vancouver Oct 27th. Mainly because I was there (for free!), the Wings won, and we scored a bunch of goals. Going out to bars in Vancouver afterwards with my Wings stuff on was awesome. I didn't really enjoy many playoffs games because I was too nervous.

Who do you cheer for now?

I'll be cheering for the Hawks. Toews is probably my favorite non-Wing, and I'd like Hossa to win a Cup. That and I grew up in Chicago, and as big of a Wings fan as I am, I love going to Hawks games. Not that I'll be paying too much attention, because the DI NCAA lacrosse championship starts up next Saturday.

    What I'm worried about

Look at the regular season +/-, then consider that Lidstrom, Rafalski, Z, and Dats are all out there against the best other teams have to offer. Most specifically Lidstrom is matched up against the Crosbys, Ovechkins, Kovalchuks, Sedins, Hossas, etc of the league. He still has a significantly higher +/- than any other defenseman on the team excepting his own defensive partner (Lidstrom was +22, next closest was Kronwall at +5). Saying that you WANT Lidstrom to go is incredibly stupid.

    Expecting too much?

There's a problem with your assumption, though. Guys that are injured can't work out in some specific part of their body, and if they're out for a long time (like Franzen), they see muscle atrophy. So while you and I are sitting on our asses and watching games, the injured guys are essentially doing the same, losing muscle mass and tone. Expecting a guy to come back at 100% of what he was pre-injury is insane and ignorant. No matter what, you're not going to come back from an injury mid-season and play as well as you did before. I honestly doubt there's mental fatigue, but physical fatigue? Oh hell yes there is, especially with how hard most of the guys tend to push their body after they're given the green light to work out by the training staff.

    put ozzy in, now?

You don't think you're trolling with a broom as your avatar? Trolling doesn't need to be overt; I'm frankly amazed that the admins have enough patience to not ban you as soon as they saw that combined with the date of your registration.

Why is Howard still in the net?

YEAH DUDE, OSGOOD ON THREE MONTHS OF NOT PLAYING IS GONNA BE AWESOME. Oh, wait.

WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Sharks 4

I'm not usually one to ***** about missed calls, but Franzen's trip (which should have been a double minor for high sticking) was a game-changer. Going from a 2 min PK to a 4 min PP would have made a huge difference.

    I think you mean "tough".

    ccm jersey or reebok premiere?

You can probably request that SportsK put the C on the other shoulder. They put the C on the left shoulder for WC jerseys, so I assume it wouldn't be a problem. They may also just do it and anyone that wants a C on the right shoulder on a Yzerman jersey can go f*** themselves.

    Brad Stuart

Do something on the PP. Then again, I can say that about most of the team, but our PP thrives on shots from the point, and Kronwall and Stuart both aren't taking them. So far though, the games we've played have been what I expect from the Wings, not what would make me say, "wow, we're playing great".

    Brad Stuart

People apparently have blinders on around here, or don't know what our defensive coverage looks like. Stuart has been terrible, and is just now falling off my radar of players that make me groan when I see them get on the ice. He's been average; not awful, and not great.

    ccm jersey or reebok premiere?

I would go Reebok, simply because I think the jerseys (of all types) are better and higher quality than their CCM counterparts. Anyone that considers it a jersey foul to get Stevie Y on a Reebok jersey is probably a ****** bag anyway.

    ccm jersey or reebok premiere?

5 jerseys at $50? You could have an authentic with real lettering/numbering for that price. http://www.sportsk.com/deredwiedaur.html Just saying. Those DHGate jerseys look absolutely terrible.

    ccm jersey or reebok premiere?

If you can wear your boyfirend's medium shirts comfortably, a medium will probably fit you pretty well. Personally I like to go a size or two larger (I think jerseys look better that way), but it's personal choice. Here's a good jersey sizing chart.

    ccm jersey or reebok premiere?

I have both, and I agree.

Which NHLer would you like to punch in the face?

Had to choose Milbury. He gives retards a bad name.

    Need Help with this jersey

It's not as simple as that. A lot of fakes on eBay have fight straps, and are of s***tier-quality material than even premier jerseys.

    Need Help with this jersey

WC jerseys only come as replicas NOW. As far as I know, the authentics originally only came uncustomized. My jersey only has the reebok tag and a tag hanging off of it with the CCM logo, Canadian flag, "made in Canada", and the size (54). Other than that the inside of my jersey is completely clean inside outside of the care tag on one of the side seams. Authentic and premier are completely different. Authentics are made up as follows: X-trafil: 100% polyester Stretch mesh: 85% polyester/15% spandex Bubble mesh: 90% polyester/10% spandex Premier are just 100% polyester. I personally try to wash my authentic jerseys as little as possible (stitching comes out on customizations). I'd also get the jersey big enough that you could wear it with hockey pads on. I think tight jerseys look goofy as hell.

    Need Help with this jersey

Actually all reebok jerseys have that stripe inside the collar. My authentic WC jersey has it. It may be that the replica (really called premier) don't have it, but I assure you that the authentic does.

    Jimmy Howard

Wait, wait. Howard is supposed to stop a one on one by himself? It's not like the defense is supposed to play well enough that there should be no one on zeros or anything, right? It's not just Howard's fault when the defense doesn't give him any help. If he has rebound control, the defense should be ready to sweep pucks out of the slot.

Jordan Leopold is ended by Andy Sutton

Keep your head up, kid. Guys come at you fast if your eyes are on your skates. Seems to be a theme this year.

WCQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Coyotes 3

Bertuzzi doesn't seem to have a middle ground between playing like a wuss and punching people in the back of the head. YOU ARE A BIG MAN BERTUZZI, PLAY LIKE IT PLZ. Also, I almost had to buy a new TV after the refs didn't call that high stick. Nick looked like he was getting stitches on the bench, FFS.

    This sounds like a challenge

I made the point in a comment on the article, but since the capacity at Jobing.com arena is 17,799 and the Yotes average 11,989 in attendance a game, if they sold out even one game this year, they likely had another game where they only managed to get 6,179 people in the door. I've been to a box lacrosse game here in Washington state that had more people in attendance. Great fanbase.

    Brad Stuart Appreciation Thread

Won't argue with the first point, but then again a lot of people stepped up a lot during that time. Eaves, Miller, Howard, etc. And as for the second point, he's tied with Meech in +/-, and he's still behind Leino, Abdelkader, and Lebda in the same stat. "Great" is not an adjective I'd use in association with Stuart. "Mediocre" or "meh" are more apt descriptions of his playing ability. He's the one Wing (other than Williams, that waste of space) that I honestly don't like. I'd rather Lebda, Lilja, or Ericsson have his playing time. I'd give him a C as a defenseman in general, but for the $3.75M we pay him, D+ is going to be the best he'll see from me until he stops letting forwards rip shots from prime position and figures out how to play in front of the net.
