Afinogenov could be had for picks, and that would work out well for the Wings in the long-run. We have plenty of prospects coming that we can afford to get rid of two or three picks and Lilja for him. I agree, Kozlov is too expensive to even consider. He would be a terrible pick up.

Having been at the practice in LA on Friday, his stick work was looking good. His skating and endurance are lagging behind, but what do you expect from a guy that hasn't been able to skate much for the last 5 months? I'd say he comes short of a lot of people's expectations because they're expecting him to come back and score a hat trick every game, but others that aren't expecting much should be surprised.

The 1680x1050 should look fine. I use it on my 23" Apple Cinema Display; the only thing that lacks decent resolution is Jimmy himself, but that's more because of the photograph used, not Matt's graphics work. Making more work for Matt when it's pretty superfluous is kinda silly, when he's already doing a lot by just making these.

Awesome idea. Maybe we can send him to Chicago or Pittsburgh? Yeah, why are we not making threads about Franzen?! I haven't even noticed the guy once since that Chicago game, and that was the third game of the season!

We'd still have his salary left on the books, though, so personally I'd rather he kept playing as long as we're going to be paying him.

Yep, I realize that. But Maltby and Draper have both been playing on the PK just as much as Miller, Eaves, and Helm have been, so your point doesn't make sense.

Er yeah, look at our record on the PK. We were #1 in the league through December, and probably top 5 in January. Man, those guys are terrible!

This post says it all, as far as I'm concerned. Rafalski has been playing very well this season; not up to what he's done in the past, but it's hard to do that when you're past your prime.

Yes, more than three times the money Filppula has made. By points alone, he's lived up to his contract (compare his points per million dollars to Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Ovie, etc). He's also an extremely valuable role player on defense though, providing needed defensive depth to anchor the second or third line, depending on where Zetterberg is playing. He may never be a first line player, but he's not making $6M a year like Datsyuk is, either.

Forward, or player? Lidstrom is highest point per game in the time frame you're talking about, I think. Unless Datsyuk has dropped, I'd think he'd be third.

Seriously, just stop with your "hockey ideas". They're not good. You're batting 1.000 with terrible ones. Helm in on a 4-on-3? Three forwards low cycling on a 4-on-3 when you have two of the best point shots in the league on your team?
