As has been stated, he'd have to clear waivers again if the Wings wanted to get him in a trade.

There have to be bonuses that will carry over to next season which will make him unattractive to other teams at that amount.

Was checking into my hotel in Vancouver as Fil, Brad May, Lebda, Lidstrom, and Zetterberg were all checking out. Saw Eaves on the way in. I was behind May in line, said good luck to him and I was hoping for a good game that night. He was super nice, shook my hand and called Fil over after he had gotten done checking out to shake my hand. Nick, Z, and Lebda were all a few spots back in line so I didn't get to say anything to them. Honestly the only other time I've been around Lidstrom I had to have a friend get a puck signed by him because I couldn't talk. I've followed Nick since I was like 9 years old and he's been the guy that I've tried to follow in my play the most, so it was like meeting your personal hero. He was nice about the whole thing and even shook my hand despite me not saying a word the whole time.

Any way you could point me to that article? I haven't found it and I've been looking for a while.

Has anyone heard whether Lidstrom will captain the blue or red team? I'm trying to find a link that says definitively, but can't find one.

I wouldn't go; I'd save the money and watch the game at home. Then again, I only go to 2-3 games a year and even then that's almost too much for me, since I like watching at home.

Based on this season, I think Eaves is more likely to move up over Miller. I would think Babcock would reunite the Draper/Helm/Tatar line again. I'd also think it would be: Eaves - Z - Franzen Bert - Fil - Hudler Draper - Helm - Tatar Miller - Abdelkader - Mursak I would probably lose my mind if Bert played on a line with Franzen. I can only handle one guy not skating at a time per line.

I don't know why people are surprised that Crosby is impressed with Z's play and would want to build a team around him. Almost every player in the league will give credit to other players that play hard and play a clean game, especially when that player is really the only one to ever shut them down (in Crosby's case). I certainly would want to build a team around the best guy I played against; I think the most impressive thing is that Zetterberg plays in the West and generally Crosby only gets to play against him a few times a year, as opposed to Parise. Whining and cheap shots aside, I like Crosby. Off the ice where he can put on his Captain's hat and take off his ****** bag hat that he wears on the ice, he seems like a pretty decent guy. He has the same attitude that we see from Lidstrom and Zetterberg in front of the camera, and I bet if you asked him, they probably are part of how he models himself as a leader.

I think the more shocking thing is that Milbury can write with something other than a crayon.

I tend to avoid places that use the NHL stock photos like the plague, or else ask them to send me a photo of one of the jerseys I'd be buying. That way I can scrutinize it and make sure I want to buy it.

Based on a Lidstrom jersey they're also selling, I'd say they're knock-offs. CCMs always had the logo embroidered somewhere on the hem line, the back of the neck, or the wrist.

Also CCM, Starter, Koho, and Nike jerseys either aren't made anymore or are fairly hard to find (real ones, not fake Chinese knock-offs). Personally I like Reeboks better than the old jerseys anyway.

Yeah man, f**k the NHL for listening to the teams and not selecting guys that didn't want to play because they feel like they'd benefit from the weekend of rest! The NHL is lazy and they suck. Also, not sure who else the NHL would pick from the Wings since Z told them he didn't feel like it. Dats is out, and none of our other players are good enough (maybe Franzen if this were the playoffs?).

If you adjust for quality of competition, Zetterberg is much better than Kesler. Just saying.

"WAAAAH someone insulted my favorite player on HFBoards!" HFBoards is full of retards (except for a few LGW posters that also post over there). Some of them have the gall to say that Letang, Enstrom, or Byfuglien deserve to get the Norris over Lidstrom.

The only person that said it was a good hit was Milbury. The other guys were looking at him like "WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU SAYING?!?!"

I definitely agree, he's been solid this year. Obviously measuring him by Lidstrom's yardstick is ridiculous, but compared to a lot of defensemen in the NHL, he stacks up very well.
