It would be quite amazing if anyone other than Zetterberg, Brunner, Datsyuk, Franzen, and Howard could do something on this team. It's like everyone in the bottom six forgot how to play hockey and Bertuzzi and Filppula haven't been exactly effective either. EDIT: Guess I can throw Tootoo in as someone who does something since he's actually doing his job. EDIT 2: Also have to throw in Franzen really isn't doing much, but he's getting the puck in the net once in awhile thanks to hard work from the players on his line. He's still just floating around.

Good, solid win. Everything seemed to click for most of the game tonight and all 4 lines seemed to be rolling.

Only players looking okay right now are the ones that played overseas and Howard. Quincey needs to get off Smith's line. Put him with someone who can cover his mistakes.

Well I meant that Bettman's statement was the joke, not the 3 proposals. I don't think the NHLPA would counter with 3 different offers that don't even approach what they were just offered.

Nyquist and Smith are still pretty unknown as to how they can handle a full NHL season so I don't have any problem with their ratings but I would have thought Zetterberg would still be a 90.

He wasn't betting on the Wings getting 30 wins, he was betting on HOWARD getting 30 wins. EDIT: Which, I believe he will still accomplish. I don't think our team is in that bad of shape that we're going to lose that many more games. The only thing that I think could stop Howard from getting 30 wins is if Gustavsson plays well enough to truly split time with him.

Yeah let him go when we need Defensemen and he's one of our most viable options. Are you serious? Without him we'd be relying on even more Griffins so you're arguing against yourself.

Every team is going to know we're in dire need for a defenseman. We literally have no leverage in making a trade. It just doesn't seem logical at this point. At least not until some point in the season when we see how we're doing and other teams need something we can give them.

I know they deserve their time and everything but this is aggravating. We need a defenseman and it's stressing me out that so much rides on this.

If he can rebound this season, it'll be nice to be able to give Howard some rest once in awhile. He's more than capable of the workload he's been getting the past couple years but I'd rather see him more well-rested for the playoffs.

Honestly this is an upgrade over Hudler. I don't see why everyone is still freaking out. I was freaking out at first but Hudler was more useless than Samuelsson is. He might be injury-ridden but he puts up decent numbers (for the amount of games played) for $3mil and he uses his body.

What's going to happen to Emmerton and Mursak is the real question here. We just signed 3 more forwards today when we are already having a battle for the last roster spot.
