2017 Stanley Cup Finals: Nashville Predators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Dan Bylsma replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I remember the forum here made the same remark about his suit last year, must be a superstitious thing on his part... -
the last two times they won the cup they touched the trophy,2008 they didn't touch it. There was no way they weren't going to handle it tonight.

2016 SCF: San Jose Sharks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

I feel a little of what you guys were putting up with in 2008-2009 With 17-21 NHL.com analyst on si.com predicting the sharks to win the cup it's hard not to see the swooning taking place for the sharks. You guys here seem to be giving the Pens a little more credit I see to my surprise. -

No, the Pens don't like that much....Bettman will only allow this maneuver when he feels he has an aging Red Wings team on the ropes and he can secure his boy, Cindy the cup -
yeah I suck, I'll be out of here real soon. Last midnight might have been the last feeding I gave Cindy :-) Listening to a Pittsburgh sports talk show as I write this, three guesses who they are talking about as a replacement for me ? Last name begins with B and ends with K

thanks juice, you deserved the victory anyway you look at it, you had the highest aggregate score, and the highest drop 1 score (as the PT site was reporting) What a strange season it was, I was 18 points behind mid season and clawed back to only about 3 points back just to finish 14 points behind again lol The pooltracker site does one thing well in keeping count of everyone's weekly aggregate score which is the time consuming part. I don't know what will take place next season but keep in mind that although the site is flawed it does save a lot of time. Maybe there is another site out there that does it all well. I'm burned out as usual at the end of the season and is the reason I don't participate in the playoff contest. I think I may take the year off next year in helping with the weekly contest.

congrats to all 3 of you elite players at this game. GoWings1905,juice and hooon, obviously you have superior all around hockey knowledge !
-
I wonder if he knows he won ?
-
juice, did you go to bed while LA was still winning or something? an overtime victory by San Jose and you're the new champ by 2 points 303 to 301 congratulations ! I'll post all the totals in a little bit.
-
it all comes down to the final game, if San Jose wins Juice71285 takes the overall title and if LA wins hooon ties in the overall point total and wins the title on the tie breaker !

see above^^^

had to delete what I originally posted here, jumped the gun a little bit...still up for grabs, didn't take into account the 2 late games

a tight overall race gets even tighter !
-
got another 10 players scores up to date with 2 dropped weeks taken into account.....
-
I counted up all the weekly scores for what the pooltracker website was saying was the overall top 10 leaders with the dropped weeks taken into consideration. I double checked the numbers then subtracted the 2 lowest scores so we finally have an accurate list of who the leaders are.It was quite time comsuming (that's why I only did 10 for now), I basically had to create a spreadsheet like document to reveal everyone's 2 lowest scores. It also revealed a tight race for the top spot with many players still having a chance to take the number 1 spot. Looks like the cream has risen to the top, atleast temporarily :-) with the two players who placed 1,2 last year in the lead.

once again I would like to remind everyone that the overall standings here should be used as just a guide line as to what's happening and may not reflect the exact standings which may require going back and looking into the weekly totals to determine accurate results.
-
congratulations to dat's sick for a 4 point victory,it's not too often you see a margin like that ! I post the overall standings only as a guide line as to what's happening there, the pooltracker site seems to be dropping only one week but I'm not sure that's equally across the board for all of out scores. Hopefully the site will correct this,if it doesn't we'll have to do it manually at the end of the season if not sooner.
-
Here's some more troubling findings. I just now went back through my weekly scores on the pooltracker website and carefully wrote them all down and counted them up twice to make sure of no mistakes in the counting process,NOT excluding any weeks I come up with the same cumulative score that the website says I have which is 227 but when I drop my 2 worse weeks I come up with 211 not 219 which the site says is my current 2 dropped weeks score is ?! My 2 worse weeks are 8 and 8,looks like they are only dropping one of my worse weeks.
-
looking over the results from the pooltracker website that I copy and paste each week,I see an error. Peadydog should be the new leader with 221 points. Hopefully the site will correct itself when the results come in next week, probably just a glitch in the system.
-
i have little doubt you'll have a few weeks of 2-3 points advantage over some of us and it will be all she wrote for me at least. It's interesting if you add the totals up between weeks 9-19 hooon is first and Gowings1905 is second, where have we seen those placings in the not too distant past ? :-)
-
things are tightening up all over for sure,I just checked, in week 11 I was 18 points behind wingfanatic4alltime now it's 8 I don't have a chance to catch up with the time left but it's going to be interesting to see what happens !
