Mantha should play. We need, as others have clearly stated "net presence". This kid that stands 6'5 easily adds to this, as he adds throwing that frame into corners getting pucks...not to mention the fear that immediately and naturally occurs when you have a dude twice the size of you coming at top speed. Mantha should play.

How did this end up Mantha VS Helm? Two completely different skill sets, both also important but one of them isn't playing and its not because of the other one. Truth is that It doesn't matter where Darren Helm plays within in the 4 line set up, he will play the same style, fast and aggressive, and that style also helps an aging Datsyuk retrieve a sh*t ton of pucks back to his stick that otherwise are heading the other way. Mantha will be called up at some point during these playoffs as he is an ace in the sleeve of Holland and Blashhill, when he does I just hope it isn't when we are down 3-1 like others have said. The kids size has immediate benefits, let alone his skill set.

I miss his size, he used it well. He used it best I thought while retrieving pucks from the corners and along the boards in the offensive zone. He was good with his stick and obviously a great chara like reach. I really thought we played some of our best hockey with him here & was excited to have him back in the lineup. Though as soon as I b@*ched about Andersson playing the other day he almost scored and didn't look bad at all either, so I guess Ill just have to believe that Blash and Holland know what they are doing

This all is what it is. Pavel shouldnt have signed a contract he didnt intend on seeing through..That said he has had a beautiful career and I certainly as a father cannot judge him for wanting to go home to his daughter. Thanks Pasha, now give us one last good run!

Exactly. He says he has one year left on his contract and three more games this season. They even ask him if hes concerned of the teams direction..He simply says hes upset on his own personal performance, in my opinion dudes a class act and will be back to finish his contract this next season.
