I voted Dats, the kicker his attitude. Feds was one of the most electric players on the ice, the way he skated was unparalleled, he could pass, score and win selke trophies. However he had a bad attitude and was kind of a hot dog, certainly more off ice then on. All of these issues were all part of his demise here. Still one of my favorite Wings, top 3 even but Datsyuk get the nod from me being a pure class act.

Please? I can believe there is another lockout which shouldn't bode well for Bettman, though unlikely he must go.

At this point I'll take it. Carlo should fair well with a shorter season this year, hopefully he can hang on for most of it. He certainly helps boost the back end, it really doesn't look so bad now, Im excited actually!

Good for Eberle, and good for Edmonton. Jordan Eberle is one of the only young players I`d be willing to trade some of our big guns for. He`s the real deal for sure.

As for Redden I really haven't followed his status for the last few seasons so Ill just assume based on he's playing in the minors and cost that dough, no thank you. Off topic now, I love the Torts!

I have always worried that when this contract is up he's 36 years old. This as well as having said he wants to play in Russia in previous years is not the best sign to me on him returning and not to mention more recently he has said really wants to spend a lot more time at his hockey school in Russia to give the kids over there in juniors more of a shot then their current situations allow. Pavs a true star and if he packs it up all the power to him, he will be missed by us but the wonders he could do for the kids in Russia would be awesome.

All I can say is thank god I can come here and have you kind, knowledgeable folks break this s*&% down for me...

This is my stand point right now. Andrei hasn't the fire power of Semin with the same reported "work ethic". So instead of adding another mediocre forward to our line up let's see what our current group can do.

I agree with this, but to enlighten the "just a little speculation for fun" as the OP stated I will elaborate further To me Brunner is a complete black ace, we have NO clue what will happen at all, hopes are high but Im not sure he's able to step up and compete with the mule?! Nyquist has been in NHL games and I like what he brings to the table so if Brunner=Nyquist at very least Ill be happy as hell.

I felt the same way in the beginning but it changed pretty fast if I recall correctly... He shined on the two kids and the old goat line, helped showcase what Dats was able to do well as grooming Z into his out of nowhere role. Hull scored 30, 37 & 25 goals in his 3 years here, not too shabby if you ask me, for an old goat that is...

To first answer the OP it would be nice yes, but I do also believe at this point we need something like Sheahan turning out to be the next Lucic...Holy crap that'd be awesome.

I think an ol' Savvy vet is what that crew needs back there, eat some minutes and shed some guidance on our young grasshoppers. ...Ian White however doesnt get enough credit at all, I used to watch him play for the Leafs every game they played for the five years he was there and he's one of the most consistent D men there is imo. I was uber happy for him that he got to play with Lids as much as he did, even if it was for that one season...

Just had to fix that I wont lie I don't think we of all teams will land Ryan, and I think that's a good thing. Yes he is a 50-60 point guy but to lose Flip entering his prime (not to mention the "kids" found his mojo imo) Tatar ++ for it?? I dont want to see that happen, I am really gearing up for this transition and with a little help from lady luck we will be alright...Better then that actually, we will be gorgeous!
